Yeah, Chasing Cars was ridiculously overplayed on the radio over here, too...so people know about them. Pretty decent following in the US, I'd say. They opened up for Coldplay here this summer, too (wish I could have gone!), so people do know their stuff/enjoy them, from what I gather.

Allright, thanks! With some luck someone taped their show too cause I'd like to have an American Snow Patrol boot
  2. the YBR thing totally boggles my mind. I'm very happy to see em playing anything different, especially a song that's never been played live...but why THAT song? I hope someone in an interview down the line asks em how they came to that decision, who's idea it was...i bet there is some weird connection with it and the space station or something like that

I mean, they are choosing to neglect entire albums, like Zooropa and Pop, and most of Achtung and then they pull this song out, that the majority of even big U2 fans don't even know. The general public has no idea Passengers even exists

such an odd turn of events, I'd be lying if I said i think they'll play it again.
  3. Listening to YBR I definitely hear a female backing vocal - it's not the Edge - she takes the final chorus solo - is anyone else hearing this? Any idea who this is? I'm guessing it's pre-recorded... just wondered if anyone has sussed it out yet.

I thought I heard that during the concert and looked over at Edge and he wasn't singing. Thanks for reminding me of that.

Also, can any one make out what Bono is rapping (for lack of a better term) during SBS? I can not for the life of me figure it out. Did he do that on the European leg?

  5. Here's a video that I took of Your Blue Room, for those of you who are interested in seeing it from a different angle. I was in the inner circle, near the bridge that Bono was on. It was visually striking to me to be able to film Bono with the video screens behind him (from my viewing angle).

It seems that Your Blue Room is a "love it or hate it" type of selection, but I really appreciated being able to see it performed live, and I also enjoy getting a mix of some crowd favorites alongside some more unusual songs. And as a Chicago-area resident, I think it's a privilege that it debuted live in Chicago!

This was my first U2 GA experience ever, and it was amazing!!!

Yeah, that's what I was talking about. I'm not sure what he's saying...and yes, he did do that on the European leg.
  7. I thought the voice in YBR was prerecorded, didn't sound like Edge to me, but there's no video (yet) where you see Edge and could definitely tell that he's not singing.

To me, it sounds like Sinead O'Connor. It might very well be here, in the tour programme's credits they are thanking her "for her voice".

I love YBR, it's one of my favourite U2 songs and I thought they played it beautifully. Still I don't think it will stay in the set, because it's not for a stadium audience. I heard the audience wasn't into the performance at all, maybe except some die hard fans. Sad to say but I'm pretty sure it will disappear again very soon.
  8. I went to the Soldier Field show on 9/12/09. Great show was looking forward to it for months. I am a little bummed not to get UTEOTW but BAD was superb...except I think there was a screw up with the delay in the first few bars, anyone else hear that? Also where I was sitting (section 211) the high e string sounded slightly out of tune.

It seems that sound quality was excellent, but in my section there was some sort of interference because the bass notes from the drum overwhelmed everything. BUt what a show, I can't wait to see them again in 2010???
  9. the first time a Belgian did vocals on a U2 song, great!
