The band's performance is nothing special indeed. But the song doesn't need that to be great. It stands for itself and, judging by the bootlegs, the things you mentioned add to the already tight atmosphere.
No crowd pleaser, singalong or dancing song, true. But there are more than enough of these already in the set.

I agree its a stands out between the other songs, but i rather have bono or the edge sing the higher parts than a cdplayer. Love the album version though!
  4. Yep. Way too much backing tracks, very few of the song is actually performed by the band... Wodnerful tune anyway

Which probaly leads us to the old pre-recorded/backing tracks/loops dicussion.

    Amen.
Agreed or not, YBR is a nice addition to the set. It stands together with Cedars, Mothers, So Cruel and The First Time among the best paced-down, beautiful and relaxed songs, not designed to play live in a rock show in front of 90.000 people; right. But beautiful anyway. And a really nice adddition for us bootleg collectors
  7. during the concert, I thought Bono was "free-styling" when he sang "Far Far Away...Let's kiss and ride on the CTA." (its the Chicago transit authority= public transportation). The whole crowd burst into laughter. Later I found out that that song is a Wilco song- a famous Chicago band. Kinda disappointing, becuae I thought Bono just thought of it.

  8. Is there a video boot somewhere of Chicago I? I don't see one on the bootleg pages here yet, but I was wondering if anyone knew of one floating around somewhere...if not, whatever...just curious.
  9. There's a DVD boot (3DVDs) of the opening night on U2torrents. The same content is available in ipod-ready format on interference.

3 DVDs?? What the hell. Is it BluRay-wise quality or what?
