  1. I sitll like that during ZOOROPA there was a title mentioned called "Sparky Leaves The Planet" (or something close to that).

    Wondering if that mutated into some slinky bass groove song like "Somedays are Better Than Others" or if it never got finished.

  2. Itdoes. Some titles from the Pop Sessions had weird names. Also I have had something that has been in my mind. Did I Will Follow have a working title and also when was it written? Does anybody know?

    There's an early demo, written sometime in 1978 - 1979 with the title 'Walk Away', which could well be it.

    I was remembering more of the similarities in the music rather than the lyrics, but thanks. I swear I remember reading it somewhere, but I can't remember where now...ah well, it'll come to me hopefully.

    I suggest we add to the main list a bit more info, like what became of each song and the source for the demo name. I think it's also important to identify which song names were given by the band and which were named by the fans (usually based on a lyric in the song e.g.: "Take You Down"):

  11. I've added more titles from the ASCAP and BMI catalogues and the recording dates as well - some of those titles which I'd never heard of.

    A lot of them in those databases you need to double-check as they were written by Bono or Edge - there aren't any songs written purely by Larry or Adam - may have been passed on to other artists, for example 'Enter The Dru' which was passed on to Dru Hill for a 2002 song or a lot of the Captive songs which Edge participated in. But it's getting bigger and bigger.

    Also so the newbies can see this list and wonder what became of each song. There are at least five new songs on the BMI database which weren't there, which means they're being recorded and used, or at least somebody - is submitting them and might be used for some future project or B-side. Oddly, no mention of Kingdom, possibly because it's not U2's song or hasn't been listed yet for general release. Check it out and if anyone knows any more, feel free to add them.

    Still, it's the biggest database of U2 outtakes around.
