1. Simple really: list one, and I repeat ONE, album that you'd recommend others to listen to that isn't a U2 album. The less well known it is all the better.

Think of it as a glorious opportunity to develop some new taste and inspire others with your own fine brand.

To kick it off I'd have to go for David Bowie's 'Station to Station'

    Toodle-pip
  2. Its very well known, but the best non U2 album Ive heard is Bruce Springsteen 'Born to Run'.
  3. Sound Of Silver by LCD Soundsystem.

    Absolutely faultless. Enjoy.
  4. These Days - Bon Jovi
  5. Dire Straits - Making Movies.

  6. True, its similar but also more narcissistic. None of that here.

I think this is slightly more personal - people are being asked to name and vouch for a single album, of which you haven't offered your own view on...

I'll look away if it makes you more comfortable
  7. probably Word Gets Around by The Stereophonics. Amazing debut
  8. Cherry Ghost' Thirst For Romance
  9. The Bouncing Souls - 'The Gold Record' - you might call the bouncing souls the u2 of new age punk rock
  10. Hopes and Fears -Keane
  11. Born to Run by Springsteen....It's a greatest hits album that happens to not be a greatest hits album
