    I would go with that. On the PC its also 1:1 time because it works exactly like a video recorder. You can always rip the DVDs again.

  7. thats a fair point. Have no VHS recorder at the moment so i'll have to try it straight from the camcorder into the DVD recorder or TV


  10. just a tester. Cheap. The tapes themselves are 10-15 years old aswell so i'm not sure quality will be too hot to begin with. If it sucks i'll get the dvd recorder into action and do a 1:1 real time conversion
  11. Those things also do realtime conversion, not faster. Only advantage is more control of compression and the ability to edit the stuff on your pc.

    Basic chaptering is all that would be required. I'll take a punt on it for a tenner.
