"With last year's AC/DC Live track pack, and last month's The Beatles: Rock Band unleashed on the world, the holdouts who still haven't made an appearance in the music/rhythm game genre are few, but legendary. Springsteen comes to mind, and Prince, who had a high profile failure to come to terms with the Guitar Hero folks. One band on many fans' wish lists, who turned down an offer of collaboration from Harmonix last year, is reconsidering turning down that invitation. It looks like U2 may be coming to the party after all. USA Today talked to bassist Adam Clayton about the band's change of heart in the wake of The Beatles: Rock Band. “We didn't want to be caricatured,” says Clayton. "What The Beatles have done, where the animation is much more representative of them, is what we're interested in, rather than the one-size-fits-all animation. " Unlike high profile holdouts like Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin and Nick Mason of Pink Floyd, the members of U2 have no problem with the music/rhythm game genre in general. "We definitely would like to be in there, but we felt some of the compromises weren't what we wanted," Clayton says. "That could change. I love the idea that that's where people are getting music, and we'd love to be in that world. We'll figure something out." So, there you have it. U2: Rock Band, coming to your console eventually...but definitely...maybe. *** In the meantime, take a moment to pop on over to Thrive, Children's Hospital Boston's health and science blog, and check out some writing from my day job . While you're there, stick around for this amazing video series about a kid undergoing an experimental desensitization trial that may cure him of his milk allergy . You can find all that as well as topics ranging from the straight facts about H1N1 and vaccinations to an article about whether American Girl dolls are better for your children than Bratz (let me go ahead and ruin this one for you...YES). Enjoy!"
