    AVI footage from Wembley 1?
  10. Gen and all.

Just reading through this thread and I have mixed views.

I too have made a multi-cam of the Glasgow show from my own footage and some YouTube footage which some people will love and some will hate, but I totally 100% know the effort that has gone into what you have created and it looks and sounds great.

However, brilliant as it is, I think that what Gen has done caters to a wider audience than the members of Bootleg sites such as this - as avid, purist, completist bootleg collectors can be very hard to please and in most cases - righly so.

In my opinion, Gen's U2'ubed DVD will go down a storm with people who just want to listen to the music, see the stage and all the lighting, get a feel for the tour etc etc..... in other words, it will be popular with the masses.

Where my effort was done to try and capture and convey what the people in Glasgow saw and heard, I believe that anyone who wasnt there wont appreciate it and so wont want to put the effort into watching it. And, I'm OK with that. People who went to one of the shows or who missed out on tickets etc., will love Gen's production.

I however wouldn't want to watch a DVD from say the War tour made up of clips from say Redrocks, Devore, Tokyo, Boston etc. It would be way too disjointed and not enjoyable TO ME. Likewise, I even hated Under A Blood Red Sky when I found out it wasnt the whole show the day after I first bought it in 1984, I felt my curiosity about what else happened ruined the whole thing. So, I am a purist myself I guess.

So, what I am trying to say is that maybe the people at U2start and similar forums are too dedicated to the cause and yes, perhaps 'anal' about their bootlegs but your DVD is great, and it will be enjoyed by more people than will criticise it.

    Great job young man!!!
