    What is your favorite team? Do you have anyone in particular that you want to win the 2009 World Series?
  2. Im a Toronto Blue Jays fan....which is a pretty sad statement at this point in time. As for the world series...I don't care as long as it's not the Yankees

    The Red Sox got swept by the Angels, so I'm considering bandwagoning for the Dodgers, just for Manny Ramirez. But I'd like to see the Twins in it too.
  4. Wow Nicole- cheering for Manny? Eek! I thought all Bostonians hated him now! I agree no Yankess, although I really don't want to cheer for any team that is in it now. If its not the Cubs (which it never is) I don't really care.

    I hate the Phillies, because I traveled to Philly this summer and went to 2 Cubs games and their fans were so obnoxious. One guy came up to me and started making fun of the Cubs. He didn't like it too much when I said (after him stating CUBS SUCK) , "Well you know what sucks? I live in a city like Chicago, and you live in Philly" Ouch.

    Only on principle I like Manny! He's douchebag no doubt about it, but he gave us some great years, so I'm all right with it. I think Nomar is still with the Dodgers too, which kind of evens it out.

    Wow, I didn't know Philly fans were like that. Nice comeback you had for that guy (because it's true!)

    Every year I hope for a Sox - Cubs series. I don't think there'd be a single baseball fan in the country who wouldn't watch it.
  6. I can whip up a baseball comeback like no other. Granted I live on the South Side of Chicago (and am Irish) I SHOULD by nature be a Sox (White Sox that is), but I chose the path less traveled and became a heartbroken South Side Cubbie fan. I need to know my facts and whip up some quick comebacks in order to survive.

    I use to be a Red Sox fan, but I'm too jealous of their success to cheer for them anymore. haha
  7. My beloved Cardinals thought they were the Cubs and got swept in the first round. I am going to have to keep warm one more winter with the memories of 06.
    The Divisions round sucked this year. 3 sweeps and one series that lasted 4 games. I hope the LCS has at least one 7 game series. I don't care who wins now. I just don't like the Philles though, so not them.
  8. As a huge Red Sox fan, I'm sad they're out. I don't like any of the teams in it this year, really. Sad to say for a Sox fan but I think the Yankees will win (my prediction from April as a joke)
  9. Either way I look at it- if it is the Phillies vs the Yankees, I'll be extremely upset. I hate both teams.

    If its La Dodgers vs LA Angels it'll be cool because it will be an all LA series, but LA will get
    1. a world series, and
    2. a live U2 broadcast?! So unfair!
  10. Hard to imagine the Dodgers coming back now. They had the game won last night. Philly looks too tough to lose 3 straight. The ALCS got a bit more interesting yesterday though.
  11. I opened this because I had no idea what MLB was. I have now worked that out. I have nothing to contribute. I do not understand baseball. At all.
