Then Larry entered the stage, the rest of the band followed him. He started playing drums and then it all fucked in lol. I head great seats with great view. The sound was excellent, even though I had little trouble hearing Bono at times. U2 were excellent from the very beginning, though the crowd got really going with Beautiful Day and Mysterious Ways, after those songs everyone was standing, clapping and singing until the very end. The band nailed every tune. It was a pitty the screen didn't fully work, but nevermind, the lightshow was spectacular anyway. Hopefully there'll be a high quality recording up soon.

Good to see you had fun Juraj
  2. Hold on - people are saying Your Blue Room was rehearsed? Are you sure? The show needs that, a killer Moment of Surrender and Ultra Violet, and that's gotta be one hell of a show - I know just that one song would make it the best yet.

I hate those people who come in late, barge in and think they're better than everyone else. That's the dude with the crappy hat in the photos? He's only there so he can say he's there, or he pretended he liked the show when he probably didn't. Gah...I'd like to knock 'em flat.

I'm actually looking forward to the later shows now that I know YBR has been rehearsed. I always thought it'd do beautifully live.
  3. Has anybody uploaded audio of Your Blue Room soundchecked? I would LOVE to hear it!
  4. Zagreb was so very special. Just being in the city that was all about U2 for a couple of days. The excitement and joy could be felt everywhere. Show I was one of the best I've ever seen, show II was better in terms of atmosphere and audience, maybe because it was originally scheduled as the first show. The flashmob with the white balloons was great and Bono acknowledged it.
I loved Unchained Melody and Shine like stars, also Until the end of the world, which I'd never seen/heard live before in person.
Mysterious Ways was also special with a girl up on stage to dance with Bono again. Two very emotional shows.
For the second show, the screen didn't expand for UF, which was a bit disappointing, but thank God it worked the night before. So I've basically seen both kinds of screen malfunction, the screen not expanding and the screen not detracting (in Gelsenkirchen).
For show I we were in the front, middle, almost directly in front of Bono. For show 2 we went to the stadium later and decided to go into the inner circle but stand at the catwalk. Crowd was crazy.
I liked the Walk On-Street transition and hope they keep it. The Tutu speech makes more sense before One. Shame they didn't play BAD in neither of these two shows. I thought One alone was not enough for an encore in show 2.
Nevertheless, unforgettable experience. U2 brought such an excitement and joy into this city and seemed to be really moved by people's reaction. I met a lot of fans from different countries and we had a great time.
  5. Hi!
I joined late, but whoever is interested in few details more from Zagreb...
    I've been to both shows...

2nd was THE ONE no doubt about it.
The moment the audience started to make Mexican waves OLA and it didn't break but went on until Space Oddity - I knew we had it there!
I saw The Hours and Snow Patrol only on this show and the crowd was excellent from them on!
The Hours - I didn’t know the band, but what struck me the most is the energy and lightness that they put in performance on that huge stage. I would say a hard task to accomplish and they did.
Snow Patrol proved to be much better live than I ever expected. I follow their music from 2005. Live 8 on but I have never seen them perform live and I've suspected that Croatian public will figure out them as soon as they hear some songs which people cannot pinpoint to. That was exactly what it happened – weeks after, with lots of community discussions – Croatia likes Snow Patrol very much

At the first show there were a lot of sponsor tickets givaways (not from the band or the management, but companies would buy tickets and then gave them away to their interested business partners), of course not more than say, 30% of all, but still that was quite a percentage - it made a big impact on the athmosphere meaning lots of those didn't know the words, not so much interested in being involved.

Therefore, a bit less crazy crowd I'd say, but still was great! Although I felt that the band wasn't so involved either - I missed the magic and the chemistry. At the end of the show I was thrilled of course, but if have not known that the next night would be another show I would probably be a bit disappointed.
It was like neither the band nor the audience gave to each other what they should making the gig ultimately fantastic.

    Bright moments from the 1st:
    - happy birthday singing to the Edge twice and drinking a champagne
    - Bono's teasing the crowd with Miss Sarajevo particle verse ("Oh dear, oh beautiful, oh sweet freedom" by the famous Croatian poet) - everyone believed now we are going to hear Miss Sarajevo (which by the way, everyone would have liked to hear - 'coz Croats felt sorry for Sarajevo at the time - we were not the ones to siege Sarajevo) and then they played Beautiful Day
    - phenomenal moment singing the snippet Unchained Melody into the One (at the end) where crowd was singing semi-loud but fairly good and then Bono left us to pitch highest tones and we couldn't made it, so he joined to sing the tone out, but he also messed it up and crowd went laughing together with Bono like "we couldn't do it, but you couldn't do it as well" - fantastic moment

Setlist okay - everybody was badly missing New Years' Day, Bad and Party girl but the encore was great, crowd was mad when we heard Ultraviolet and WOWY, but less enthusiastic on MOS since it is a new song (for that crowd from the 1st day) and still not "at home yet" , people felt MOS was not the right song to finish off - I'd say it was f*** bold from U2 to put such a song at the end.
    And 2nd night proved it!

More details and pics to come....

True, nobody was talking about anything else week before and week after than about U2. Even those who wouldn' wanted, but had no choice
