to buy means nothing, fans who buy everything aren't necessarily the best fans

I don't buy this set either, because I love the album too much, think about it

try something extraordinary that you always thought you didn't like, maybe miami

or watch berlin 1981, that gives you pretty much the impression you're the only one to like u2 music and love deepens when you feel exclusive

    cheers

    wow, that is pretty deep!

  2. Berlin 81 = infamous Rockpalast DVD. As I am a proud member of The Minority That Thinks October Is A True Masterpiece, I like the era and this show is a little uneasy, because Bono works really hard and no-one in the audience gives a shit. Sometimes it is fun to see an old show and no-one in the audience being able to see how great the show is.

Uploading MFSL albums now, will take a while, I'll pm links.

The Joshua Tree Super De Luxe Extremely Limited Edition does about 10 bucks by now. TUF will drop to that range a lot faster as it is less a collectible and less famous.

  6. Big lol to Noiseless

  7. You shouldn't laugh! As a crew member, you should firmly condemn me for offering by pm officially released Mobile Fidelity Something Laboratory master recordings not available in any store! Shame on you!

You didn't say you were going to PM the links from the remaster
Now you did, I suggest I ban you.

  9. According to my lawyer, you can't ban me for offering remasters as the MFSL recordings technically aren't remasters, just superior pressing from the master tapes

    [onderbuik] dutch only [/onderbuik]

    ban me for off-topic!
  10. about those MFSL ones, I really like them... Achtung Baby and Zooropa never got that treatment right? Pity.

  11. No, only War, TUF and JT.

The expertise of MFSL is (was?) to get the best out of analogue master tapes. As Achtung Baby and subsequent albums were recorded digitally, there's nothing MFSL could do in that department. Please note MFSL didn't remaster recordings, they just pulled the best out of the master tapes.

You can't compare it really with digital sources because with superior tecnnology, you can get something extra out of an analogue source, but you can never get more out of digital recordings as essentially no single digit is lost in any part of the process of recording > mastering > pressing to consumer cd, as it is with analogue material.

So the only way to enhance AB and Zooropa is to really REmaster them and that's something MFSL never has done, they didn't remaster, they just finished the master tapes in a superior way.

It's a shame though MFSL didn't release Boy and October.
  12. Thanks for the explanation!
