1. Hey guys. As we all know, the North American tour dates for 2010 have yet to be announced. And there's been a lot of speculation regarding which venue the band will play at next year. Some venues are more likely than others.

I live in a the New York Metro area. Some of my friends have the idea that the band could hit Major League Baseball stadiums on the second North American leg. Places like Yankee Stadium in NYC and Citizens Bank Park in Philly come to mind. I think The Police once performed at Citizens Bank Park.

So do you think THE CLAW would fit inside MLB stadiums?

So far, THE CLAW has been built inside football stadiums only. So I wonder if it's feasible to do these shows inside baseball stadiums. (Rogers Centre houses both a baseball field and a football field- so that's a different story.)

    What do you guys think?
  2. --nevermind--

Probably, though. Baseball fields are wider, so I don't think it'd have any problem fitting in there...it's just that the seating angles would be a little effed up.
  3. Didnt they play in a baseball stadium in Toronto? It fitted there, so I see no problems...
  4. I hope they don't play baseball stadiums. If they do you you can bet they will want to play Yankee, Fenway, Wrigley, and we will get a repeat of the same cities they are playing right now.
  5. It really depends on the stadium capacity. Some baseball fields hold more than others- for example- Wrigley Field is much smaller than a Yankee Stadium. Football being football, there are more fans that go to each game, just because there are so few in a season- thats the reason why the stadiums are much larger.

Also, I think its easier to schedule in football stadiums- the team only needs it once a week where as baseball 6-7 x per week.
  6. It would fit in centre field, but as mentioned, the seating angles would not be desirable
  7. Well, it could, but you also would have very limited GA space. Meaning one thing. DUMP THE CLAW.
  8. Why are people still asking this? It has been done and it will probably be done again!
  9. this is a picture from the architect who built the claw's website

this is from early in the design stages, as the video screen and catwalks are not in the picture. but i think this still shows that the claw would probobly fit in baseball stadiums

  10. Rogers Centre wasn't built for just baseball.

It's bigger in size than dedicated baseball fields are.

Also, Paul McGuinness said at the very beginning that baseball fields are out of the question, due to the Claw's size.
