Seen them live twice. Both great experiences - November 11th 2006 (Manchester) and 16th June 2007 (Wembley).

Never really gave them a listen until when they opened for U2 in GA. I couldn't believe how good they were live and was a bit disappointed when they only played 9 songs. The tixs stated the show started at 7pm, but they didn't come on until 730 and only for about 45 minutes.

I am a fan now though... Undisclosed desires, Maps, Starlight are a few of my favs!
  2. My Muse song of the week: Exo=politics, this was a grower now i love it.

Glad at least one person was listening to them. Welcome, convert

That's not to say that I dislike the album - I love it - but I wish there wasn't all this hype about it being Muse's new sound because, to me, it's not new or whatever. Bloody clever compositions and musicianship as always from the boys, but it knarks me that people consider it as different.

I kind of agree with you; this album still hasn't grabbed me by the short and curlies and shaken me around like the other 2 did. I can see it's genius, but I haven't been reeled in.

Maybe that's because it's not original, or that it's far too original

PS Katie - I love Guiding Light too

I sat up and took much more notice of NLOTH than I have with The Resistance, but maybe there's a certain element of...something...affecting that view, who knows (might be something to do with the gap between U2 releasing albums as opposed to Muse...). Re. Guiding Light, it's a favourite of mine from the album too, I for one love the solo and the rolling guitar-work, kinda reminds me of Sweetest Thing live during the Elevation tour? Similar part anyway. There's not one song on it that I can't bear to listen to BUT, as you say, nothing has grabbed me by the short'n'curlies either. It just feels like a solid Muse album cut from moulds already used. I still see it as BH&R, Part Deux, but that's simply personal opinion

  6. Been my favorite off of Black Holes for about six months. I love it.

  7. Nice review Nick

I got grabbed last night. It's reeled me in now. 2nd favourite album of the year (pushed hard by The Gaslight Anthem though).

I can't stand that half-Fench song yet and United States of Eurasia is a bit throwaway, but otherwise.... There's good work there and some genius.

    Exogenesis is.......

    well.....

....simply mind-blowing. Is there anyone else alive at the moment who could write a song like that? Makes the modern pop-rubbish seem like a 3 yr-old wrote it on a toy keyboard.

  8. I love it too, but favourite?? Wow.....

(Take a Bow, Knights of Cydonia, Map of the Problematique, Supermassive Black Hole, Assassin......)

  9. Those are my favs from Black Holes too

    Thanks

Oh my God, yes! I said the same thing once Matt started singing during Overture!
  11. I am excited to read they are planning a US tour next year. What kind of venues do you suppose they will play as headliners? Outdoor amphitheaters?
