    Die hard fans are often very critical. And dont forget a little bit of criticism is only healthy. I think U2 has been defined by critics. U2 always proved them wrong. Just think of how U2 changed because people at the end of the 80s said that U2 wouldnt have a chance in the 'new era'. That U2 wasnt enough Rock 'n Roll... Then U2 gave us ZooTV. Also after the 'disappointing' POPMART tour U2 came with ATYCLB. What you might think of the album doesnt matter, but with ATYCLB U2 was back at the top, as biggest band in the world.

    They are at their best when criticised (just listen to leeds). And I do think they are critical about their own work as well. Otherwise they would have released an album every month.

  3. i've only seen One and WTSHNN but i don't think this was a good performance. Don't like the camerawork either. Maybe the rest of the show will convince me. Where can I download the whole show? or when?

The sound was okay, regular TV broadcast but I could listen to it in headphones which was better. The crowd was quite enthusiastic, if this becomes the DVD it will be my fav U.S. crowd. The DVD! Yes I know it will get a really nice sound treatment and more cameras and angles, but I whish they thought better before they decide what to release. In my opinion, they shouldn´t announce that it will be filmed and turn out to be a DVD. This puts too much pressure on them and if they don´t do so well by their standards like yesterday they´ll be forced to at least release material from that. That´s why I think they just need to film a few concerts each leg and later get the best one or even mix concerts up. Maybe it wouldn´t even have so many angles and stuff, but I wouldn´t care. I hate how Chicago DVD was filmed, some weird shots. I really like the Paris one from JT. I sometimes find it weird when they release concerts. They chose Pasadena, a day that B was in okay shape. Vertigo was filmed in the middle of B´s flu/bronchites, can´t recall. I remember watching a gig in the third leg in Chicago, the one that was not filmed, they were a lot more loose and Bono´s voice was way way better than the filmed one in the first leg (I was there too). Also, they waited too long to film, If they were to use this system of announcing before they should´ve done Europe in the first 15 shows where his voice was in marvelous shape, not tired yet. Last but not least, I actually would like if the band didn´t care to be The Best Band in the world in a popular way such as they try now. They should fuck off mainstream and do music they find amazing, even if it´s not radio or pop. Then, they would be The Best Band In The World, just like they were in the 90´s. Thanx for your time, I needed to get it out of my system because I think it was more a problem of planning. Probably if I was at the show I wouldn´t realise his voice was raspy and wuld love it even if it was. But since is a dvd....

    These were actually the highlights. One was beautiful, better than on most shows they've done this tour.

    I haven't seen the whole show so far, simply didn't have time, and the stream seems to be offline now, but I'd like to watch it start to finish. And I really think you cannot judge it properly if you weren't there. Many people said the sound and Bono's voice were much better at the actual show than the You Tube broadcast. I also don't think they will use the same broadcast for the DVD. I thiink they might use some of the other material they've filmed during the tour for the final DVD and technology can do wonders. It won't be the same as the You Tube stream. Apart from that, I really love the set, Bad would have been nice, but the set is fine for me, a good mixture of old and new stuff. Also, from what I've seen, the band, Bono especially, seemed to be in good mood and energy. Can't say much about the audience, though, but from what I've seen, the crowd didn't seem to be too much into it. No comparisons to the shows I've been to.

    And I think we shouldn't be too hard on Bono because he's not the only one responsible if things don't work out. I guess the pressure that a night like this brings is also a factor. It's frustrating to see that he isn't in top form as far as his voice is concerned, because he's been so great for most of the shows of this tour, but I'm sure it must be frustrating for him as well. But I still think the DVD will be fine. I remember worrying about U23D because Bono's voice was so shot in South America when they were filming this and still it was great on film. Sigh, I wish we'd see an audience like that again ...

    Anyway, I am totally aware that a concert DVD will never be able to capture the awsomeness of this show, it will be a nice souvenir, but not more, and in the end the memories of the actual shows I went to will be much more important for me.

  10. Being at the show, inside rail, Adam's side, the show was good, great, no, good yes. They did rock the Rose Bowl, the crowd IMO was amazing.

    The catwalks were a bit annoying but overall it was a good show.

    Just a word of caution here. It has been posted here before: Being that close to the stage gives you a sound experience that is as good as a 3.5 star boot. I took the advice of another person here and wore earplugs. It did make the difference.

    Hey, not a bad tour. It was amazing to be there.


  11. best song of the night. other very good ones were Unknown Caller, One (!!) Streets, No Line, Vertigo, Walk On, In A Little While. Also notable is the solo of Magnificent.

    I agree with that, I thought the crowd did as good as i expected on Unknown Caller. One was outstanding, Hear us coming is always a huge plus.

    I'd also add the snippet at the end of Beautiful Day and Stand By Me as big highlights from my perspective
