1. I'm a bit Streets-obsessed.

After putting in my vote for the best fan-vid capture of THE Streets moment on the European-leg...

After seeing dozens, perhaps 50+ YouTube fan-vids of Streets...

I present my vote for the best of the US tour - ronaltbs on 2009/09/24 - Giants Stadium, NJ

...And to re-iterate my vote for the European leg, pimzzzz on 2009/06/30 - Camp Nou, Barcelona, Spain

    Any takers? Alternate votes?
  2. both are crap. I prefer the camera to pan out for the flash. Haven't got a look at many US ones but Barcelona still wins

  3. WORLDS BEST CLAW PIC FROM THE ROSE BOWL BABY!

  4. gee, thanks for being considerate and conciliatory.

it's obvious we look for different things.

    you like a pro-shot vibe.

i personally prefer the unified sound of a crowd roaring and jumping up and down, even if the camera looks shittier than a pro-shot. hell, for me, a shaking camera is a plus for me.

i like the giants stadium because
    1) the 209 section crap seats behind the stage are going bananas, with enthusiastic clapping & cheering during the buildup
    2) a good view of the light explosion + an "American-crowd-supposed-to-be-dead" who actually puts certain European crowds to shame.

your redzone clip is pretty good for my standards, good flash and view but not a the roar is meh and there's not a lot of people jumping, unlike your second chosen clip

your u2006com barcelona 07-02 clip looks brilliant but has no roar in the audio. for me that's a deal-killer.

Both of my choices are hand held GA cams. No pro-shot vibe there for me. The red zone clip misses the roar because its not showing the initial flash. The roar is missing on this tour in general. The flash just doesn't seem to have the same power or effect as it had in tours gone by so my only preference in these vids is seeing the crowd fully illuminated

  6. Ditto. Germcevoy, it doesn't help your case that the two videos you posted strike me, too, as underwhelming.

Of those posted here, my favorite is the very first, even though it still leaves a lot to be desired (for starters, the resolution is too low).

What's most interesting to me about the clips that have been posted so far is that Tampa actually seems to have done at least as well. Here's one clip I found, so far - sorry, for it, too, is a very imperfect one:

I guess this is material for another thread, but I've been wondering about this, too: Have the crowds at U2 concerts (or concerts, in general) grown weaker, over the years?

opinion v opinion. Maybe I should have more politely put mine across. Tampa looks well there. A little too close to the stage for me. I just don't think the flash is bright enough for the roar we used to get. Just not enough light. Elevation had it perfect. Every Streets video from that tour is amazing
  8. Alright, then, I'll be checking out some Elevation Tour Streets in the days to come.

  9. the song died after that tour. You will find some cracking videos

  10. Also my thought. OK, I might be a bit biased, as Elevation was the first tour I saw them live, and you know, you never forget the first one. But still, the flash I saw there just blew me away, and I never witnessed that again. On the Vertigo Tour there was no flash at all, which was a big disappointment for me, and this year the flash was back, but not as strong as on the Elevation Tour. Maybe that's because there's no backdrop and of course, a stadium is a lot larger place to light than an arena, but sure, I still miss that Elevation era flash. At the time I thought I felt heat from the lights when that flash stroke. Truly amazing. THE highlight of the show for me. Still THE highlight of any U2 concert I saw.
