1. Not the beach clips. Please.

Adam's bass tech confirmed to a fan tonight that U2 will indeed be recording in Vancouver.

So the sound engineer at those Vancouver studios was right? Coming off a tour and if Bono has been writing, should be lots of inspiration going for it.

I'll keep an eye on BMI - if any new song titles pop up I'll put them here or in my two threads. I see one has already been posted in but not the SoA timeline.

Sunshine - Unknown Caller? Except it happens to be assigned to EMI Blackwood - not Universal Publishing or Mercury Records.

    FOR ONCE IN MY LIFE
  2. BMI? where do you get those names from?
  3. Are these BMI songs like songs that they´ve composed and registerred as theirs?

still not finding the last page though

  5. The titles they've registered for later use; they may or may not be written or ever recorded.

Not sure if Bono himself registered these or it's Universal or Mercury.
  6. A completed/polished version of Mercy might be one of the best songs they've ever written...it's already one of my favorite U2 songs. I really do hope they wind up doing that for the album...and I envision the album as sounding nothing like anything they've done before, perhaps with the exception of Unknown Caller and Fez (and maybe a hint of Moment of Surrender).

"Love puts the blue back in my eye" is the most genius lyric they've written since 1991.

  8. Nah, its a bit too Bomb/ATYCLB-ish, I prefer his more poetic stuff. Disappearing Act has some splendid lines.

My favourite part of Mercy is by far the first verse, great lyrics there "you're gravity/searching for the ground...silence/searching for a sound".
  9. Maybe its just me but I'm not too sure that they are recording!! I'm not saying that people are lying about U2 having booked studio time in Vancouver but perhaps circumstances have changed?

I mean recording right after the tour in the same place as the last concert makes lots of sense. Until you factor in the flight and performance in New York. And even then its not too far to go back until you realise U2 are lying all the way to Berlin for a concert.

It just seems strange that they would fly all the way back to Vancouver when there are plenty of other recording studios in Europe that they could of used!
