1. Ya it's for sure not the only one, but i'll still give the point some validity. toss in In a Little While and that's about it if you don't count new songs and singles

Second of all saying they're not trying hard is ludicrous. U2 has always been about putting on a show. They have found a show that they think works, and i agree. For the fans attending one show on the tour, which is the vast vast majority, It's a great set and show. I wish they'd mix it up more too but to cite a lack of effort as the reason is totally off base.

First of all I'm not wrong this is my opinion. Secondly, deal with it.

  3. Ok..you are right.Ultra Violet is the only other song that is a standard in the setlist.Sorry.UTEOTW has been played only a few times. But,you understand my point. It is alot of hits.

yep I can see your point. But the problem is that U2 also have to deal with people who are coming to the show because they wanna hear the hits. If they just play the diehard fans favorites like Mofo, they wouldnt sell out every night.

True.Good point. But,why is it that other bands do it.I already mentioned Pearl Jam.Dave Matthews and of course Bruce. They dont play the same setlist every night. They sell out.I agree it is a very good setlist. But if you are playing the same city for more than one night, there is a good chance that quite a few fans will be attending more than one show.

Bruce can do that because he and his band is far more talented. They also do requests. But it isnt as spectacular as a U2 show. U2's shows have an amazing lightshow and things like that.

Also, I think that it always take some time before songs are really setting in. If you listen to Barca 1 and Rose Bowl it's one hell of a difference. Barca is just 24 songs, Rose Bowl flows.

Ok.IMO I think the Milan 1 show was the best of the tour.Dublin 3,and Berlin for Europe.Im of course biased for my 2 shows here in the big apple, the Chicago shows were great as well.Mind you,I do like the setlist. But I just feel its too safe..all the time now.Your Blue Room got me going, then they dropped it.They did the same thing in Europe with ES.The last few bootlegs I havent even bothered to download.Theres no point. Its the same show, unless you attended one of them, why download the exact same setlist??

Same counts for other tours. Popmart had basically one setlist, Zoo TV had only slight changes. Vertigo and Elevation had some more variation, but also weaker songs. really, I would love to hear some smashers like Mofo and The Fly instead of Elevation and Beautiful Day, but that won't happen quickly. We'll have to be happy with what we've got, and I'm pretty satisfied with the setlist. I mean, nobody expected them to play Ultra Violet.

I agree with you that it might be too safe but we can't do anything about it.

  9. I have no problem understanding and or dealing with your opinion thanks. I'm curious what makes you say that you don't think they are trying besides the fact that the setlist is the same, something which is not rare throughout u2 touring history

Yeah, true that...Pearl Jam can play 59 songs in 2 nights because they don't have a $750,000 light show accompanying their music. That stuff all has to be very strictly followed, this tour...as far as setlists are concerned. It's one of the few cons of the new setup- It's SO big, it doesn't leave too much room for frequent change.
  11. If Even Better Than the Real Thing makes an appearance in 2010, who actually wants to hear it in the Perfecto Mix? Just out of curiosity. In my personal opinion, the Crazy Tonight remix should stay/rotate...and one remix per show is enough for me. I'm personally a much bigger fan of the studio cut.

I agree also. I think part of the reason they ditched the EBTTRT Perfecto Mix after they rehearsed it was the came up with the Crazy Tonight remix. Studio version would fit in nice in the elevation area of the set in my opinion.
