1. Hello U2-fans,

Can anyone tell me what font is used for the artwork of this magnificient album?
I want to frame something and i want to use this font to create something at the background.

Hope someone have the answer for me.

    Cheers
    Remco
  2. when listening in a loop its very strong. even stand up and magnificent arent that bad then.
  3. Came 9th in Q Magazine's albums of the year list.

Breathe is one of their standout tracks of the year.

  4. As well it should. I think Breathe's a bloody wonderful (and largely under-rated) song. There's nothing you have that I need - it's a lyrical middle finger to the world and I love it.
  5. it still in the same league as my all time personal favorites: Joshua Tree and Under A Blood Red Sky
  6. Six or seven months on, it's still a bloody good album in my book. The tour has only made it greater. Some of the tracks I didn't care for that much previously - Unknown Caller, Moment of Surrender - have been made that much better from the live experience. The best album never to be played on the radio I daresay.

I really like how you put that and I can say that I totally agree!
  8. Very, very strong album. Myself I rate it as their 3rd best.
  9. It's pretty good, true there are really no weak songs ( unlike say TUF & JT) but it doesn't really reach the highs of their best albums, it's probably their 5th best. It still sounds like post 2000s u2; being rather uncohesive and a bit silly in parts, hopefully Songs of Ascent is more focused - that would make for an excellent album.
  10. I would have the album in a battle for 4th with Zooropa. (1. AB 2. JT 3. UF). I love now how all the talking and queries about the album have surpassed and we all realise that it really is a terrific album. I adore Unknown Caller, I just know its gona make me cry some night when Ive had a few drinks. I think the album is very well structured, something for everyone really as well. Strongest songs in the album for me are No Line, Magnificent, MOS, Unknown Caller, Fez and Breathe. There isnt really a weak one on there. Its such a shame alot of people will never know how good it is. Im referring to the ''U2 are past it'' and ''Get on Your Boots is crap that album must be poor'' brigade. Ah well, we're the lucky ones I suppose, and we have Songs of Ascent to look forward to as well!!
  11. I have it listed at 3rd right now. The individual songs are really good but not great, there is no song on the album that i skip or don't like to listen to when listening on loop. Some songs just work so well when listened to as an album....(White as Snow, Cedars) All in all a really strong group of songs that fits well together.
  12. I dislike the cheeseyness that plagues their post 2000 work, it really makes them seem like embarassing dad-rockers at times.

You just have to listen to that "Sexy Boots!" line or the second half of Stand Up Comedy to cringe
SUC is an excellent song until it gets to that silly bridge and woeful "soul rockin people" ending

    What were they thinking?
