I have uploaded a 320kbps mp3 to rapidshare (150mb total) for continuous recording of the DVD1:
    http://rapidshare.com/files/295201040/matrix_U2_wembley_1_cd1_M_les_OK_mix_Kevtic_plus_voynet_1.778_lowpass_14000static20_maxmatch.mp3.html

I do think that the matrix beats the separate individuals, but as with all sound recordings it is very very personal. I also found quite interesting differences in how the recording sound on different systems..I guess you (as novice amateurs) can never get it exactly right.

The original matrix is extremely powerful, probably over the top so made the volume somewhat less and got rid of some hiss. That way we can also turn the vlume UP without getting too much distortion.
GOOD news as far as I am concerned is that the flaws in the voynet recording can not be heard anymore.

Funny thing as far as I am concerned is that the original remaster of voynet sounds very muffled compared to this.....

Let me know what you guys think. Have contacted voynet/kevtic/M!les to ask their OK for using the recordings, but can really not see how they would object :-)

    this sounds great
    have you got part 2

  8. Hi

Sorry about the delays....all who ordered have been sent...but as stated before we are at the `mercy` of royal snail....a company that has gone downhill quicker than the UK!

anyone who has not recieved the DVD by 27th then please contact me and i`ll send another...dont worry `ill pay!...and get great pleasure letting my westie bite the postman.

Thank you for all the comments posted, the feedback has been positive and is always an encouragement.
Also comments like `the best bootleg dvd` is also very nice to hear....but if you guys knew us then you would also understand that to us that fact is less important than the comments of `we enjoyed watching it`....the best, the worst..it never really matters!...what matters is fans get together to try and produce something that other fans will enjoy...this takes time and effort..ability comes with experience...and experience comes from trying!...so respect to all who have.

since this thread started i have had video clips sent, audio sent and covers made for the artwork....a real `team` effort....and that`s the plus side of using forums like this one....it encourages people to work together from all corners of the globe!....to achieve the best results...it raises the `bar`

so whilst you thank me....i also thank you.....for taken the time to view/read and show interest in these projects....as the story goes `U2 fans are smart people who read below the surface`....

    gen.

wembley started.....audio still a problem..but some clever multi-tracking might cure it!...some of the cam version contain alot of `highs and mids`..the audio sourced contains alot of echo and bass...stadium acoustics did not help!....but by mixing the multi tracks we can get a nice balance...so far first mixes sound pretty good....although it will take a bit more time with audio it will take less with video as all the footage is from 14-08-09...so no sync issues or continuity issues....should be a breeze!...

advise for u2 25th live show....look for software that can record `live streaming`...although the show will have two re-runs after the live performance.
genesis did the same thing in 2007 with the `turn it on again tour`..except they screened into selected cinema`s...but used the net to pipe the stream.. they even mixed it to 5.1 live!!!...the quality was stunning but it did suffer some minor glitches due to buffer errors...so dont expect the U2 thing to run as smooth as silk...although youtube have said they have enough bandwidth to cope....if a glitch is there...it stays even on the re-runs....so some editing will be needed i suspect after the show in order to remove these glitches...but then again it is 2009 now...technology might have nailed it and it could be a smooth as silk...either way should be a good breakfast time gig!!!!...and for me makes a change from watching F1 at that time!

  9. here is the link to DVD2 matrix:
    http://rapidshare.com/files/295685620/remaster_Voynet_matrix_M_les_kevtic_-1.778_max_14000lowpass20_DVD2.mp3

I have the matrix in WAV, FLAC, and mp3 in 320kbps.

What format has preference of multicam guys????? I can upload the flac as well, but want to give kevtic/M!les/voynet chance to voice their objections if they have any. I guess multicam guys can use the mp3 as guide and I can send dvd with WAV and FLAC recordings for their convenience to use in final product.

Look forward to hearing your/their feedback. At least I have all recordings saved and can therefore quite easily be changed. Still no expert at using Goldwave, but enjoying the process :-)

    Cheers Arnoud
  10. Hi

    update:

    plenty going on!....

1st up wembley!......had a look at the footage...editing is going fine...audio should be ok...thanks to alot of mixing by a certain helpful chap!..
hopefully will be ready sometime soon...maybe 3 weeks.

the youtube concert....managed to pipe the image onto dvd via the graphics card...much higher resolution than the current youtube re-run....also have cleared up the sound problems during the 1st 4 numbers...added so volume, EQ over-dubs and `viola`..its looking good!...also added some `other` edits....i found the event on the night was unique and also i felt part of a `bigger picture`...but i also felt `bono` had abused his voice leading up to this gig...the first half seemed tight and full of technical problems....the abuse was probably down to `interviews` about the `big event`...the guy can now at least rest it for awhile...but he should shut himself out of interviews during tours....

chicago....little bit of this and a little bit of that!.....this is turning out fine.....with the audio from youtube concert it has opened the doors to this again....i dropped the project as the audio was basicallly `shite`...but as with u2`ubed the first show it is not a `nailed down` production, but simply a `American postcard! so some `editing tricks will be used!``....wembley and rose bowl will be `from the night`...

    so as you can see....busy!
    time scales:
    rose bowl - one week
    wembley - 3-4 weeks
    chicago - 3 weeks

all will contain the usual menu/chapter and 5.1surround./ stereo audio.

    back to it...
    gen.
  11. Great stuff gen, really appreciate the hard work you & your team are doing, i recently recieved the first one in the mail, and it's just awesome to have in the collection, have watched it a few times, love it!
