Don't think its fair to say that.

The whole rap scene leaves me puzzled, like why was Jay Z wearing dark shaded glasses at night.

Where is the dignity in it all? It's so aggressive and juvenile.

    Gotta love Dylan. Epic.

And cmon guys , that's not a rap Bono does during MOS. It's barely more than a (great) spoken verse.

So you think Vertigo, Numb, Breathe and The Electric Co are aggressive and juvenile as well? Bono (and Edge) is/are (nearly) rapping on there...

Rap is just a way of singing, not necesarilly the bling-bling and the bitches, which would be the genre of hiphop/urban...in my view that is.
Rap has been used in rock music for quite a long while now, I even think it's initially a singing style "discovered" by rock artists.
I name A Wolf At The Door by Radiohead and The Stone Roses...

Above all; U2 were considered aggressive and juvenile as well in 1976-1983...

To quote Scroobius Pip, "Thou shalt remember that guns, bitches and bling are not part of the four elements and never will be."

    Damn right.

Man, the hiphop scene is so different than the rock scene. I know about Jay Z's history and where he came from. Much respect for someone like him who came from nowhere and worked himself to the top of the music business. Besides that I don't really like rap music anyway but he is much much better than idiots like Eminem, 50 cent etc and then I dont only mean the music.
