1. I wish we'd get a clear indication of what is going on with a new album.
  2. I think putting "Mercy" on this would completely revitalize their image. It's exactly the song people want, in my opinion- and NOT just because I want it. It can be reasonably edited to fit radio, would be a breathtaking live track, and is remniscent of the best parts of ATYCLB.

I also disagree with whoever said that it was safe to say this song would never be officially released. It's not dead yet, and I think they're at least SOMEWHAT aware of the fact that most of their diehard fan base is in love with it.

My prediction is that it will surface on the "Best of 2000-2010" album whenever that is released. Honestly, they don't need a Best Of compilation for this decade, but I'm sure we'll get one. I think it will be the "Sweetest Thing"/"Electrical Storm" of the album. If not there, HTDAAB will soon get the treatment that these albums are getting now, with the box set and what not, so it will probably make the deluxe disc for that. We've only got about 15 years to wait on that, though

I could see that too. It would make a good sngle for the Best Of package.
  4. Anyone (maybe everyone) can dissagree with me but I think the problem of NLOTH was that it had great songs, just no focus. Could it have been the playing order? Could it have been the exessive howling from Bono? It seemed to me that they were trying too hard to be "experimental" and came off differently. Some of their best albums seem to just flow, each song just complimenting the next, like telling a story. I think NLOTH was Adam's time to shine though. I hope this new album doesn't feel "forced."

I know, I just wanted to point out there are some great lines in the song.
Anyway, I don't think we'll get the new album until late April/May.

  6. I perfectly agree - and I would add: if we get it at all (but hopefully we will)...

  7. It will be like any other U2 recording: they'll slowly write some stuff, work on it, finish it and they'll start re-doing it just before the deadline. At least they already have a starting point- NLOTH sessions.
