1. Well my other topic got closed with no real answers. So let me start by saying I am NOT talking about either of the Red Zone packages I know what and where they are.

Here is my original post http://www.u2start.com/topic/6924/

Here is a link to the packages from U2.com http://www.u2.tickets.musictoday.com/U2/moreInfo.aspx?event=128611&outlet=2150

The basic info from the second link is this pasted in below, but all I really care about is the first item, the Preferred Seating. I was able to find one post on u2.com that said the seats they got were very good and another that said they were bad, obstruced by the claw.

So I was just wondering if anyone else could shed some light on if they thought the seats they hold back for these packages are significantly better then what you might get with the presale or the general public sale. I am planning on going to more then one show with my wife so 4 tickets from my subscription will get used up in two shows.

I would hope they are fantstic seats as they are over $500 each. Hard to justify, not knowing what you are getting until two weeks before the concert. Parking and the dedicated entrance is nice and I'd guess the food is sub-par. All I really care about is trying to figure out if the seats justify the higher price or if I'd be better off scalping great seats since those never really seem to make it into the hands of mortals.

    Thanks, Rich

    From U2.com:
PREFERRED SEATING: a premier, top price level reserved seat in a section close to the stage, offering a spectacular view of U2's innovative 360° stage design.

RECEPTION: a 2 hour pre-concert reception featuring a first class buffet with open bar (beer and wine).

PARKING: forget about parking hassles; VIP guests will receive a reserved parking pass. (one pass with every 2 tickets purchased - some venues will not include parking)

ACCESS: purchasers of this unique package will be granted access to the venue through a separate VIP entrance.

GIFT PACKAGE: our VIP guests will each receive an Official U2 360° Tour merchandise gift package, featuring a special tour VIP item not available to the general public.
  2. Sorry, my mistake. Misunderstood you.

No idea about this side of things.
  3. Just a quick follow up for anyone who is interested. You do actually get to see the tickets you will get when you make the "VIP Package" buy. You are also able to reject and search again. I did it a few times until I was happy with my seats.

I ended up getting seats in line with the very front edge of the red zone just about even with the front of the stage in the 5th row on Larry's side for NY/NJ, and roughly same seats but row 4 on Larry's side for Philly.

Hopefully the parking, dedicated entrance, open bar, and the rest will justify the cost.

Another thing to note is you don't have to enter your code to get the seats or wait for your group. I guess if you are willing to pony up the $$$ they are happy to take it. I clicked on the "package" link on u2.com right at 10 am the first day for both. The seats were about 75 yards better (closer) then when I checked with my Magnificant group code. So pretty happy about the seats, but man that is a lot of money.

Hope this this helps anyone else, that is on the fence.
