and I very much miss the extenision for vertigo ...
man ... the stadium allways goes nuts then ... and on and on and on .....

and sometimes this tour, bono starts singing way too early on in the song .. the band has not even had a chance to hear their own music ... or let it evolve a bit ... and they already have to keep up with mr oops I forgot my lyrics .. ... that version of stay ... 24-09-09 almost can be placed next to one from barca ....

They actually extend Vertigo this tour again. Not as good as during Vertigo though

  2. thanx for the right one ... !
    whole lot of confusion ...

and vertigo is somewhat extended ...

i love the version with the " its only rock and roll ...." is a firy one ..
but what they did with vertigo tour, was almost like what they do with the break in I'll go crazy ... you can see edge bouncing in between the beat when the kick comes back in .... with vertigo they can even make the crowd voices and energy swell up even more .... I will never forget ... vertigo, in barcelona, listened to entire gig from outside .. last 5 minutes at the end of partygirl they open the gates to let people out .... so I quickly entered and ran up as fast as I could ... ... all the way ... and then entered that massive stadium ..., only to witness the stadium explode with that mad mad second version of vertigo ..... that stadium was going mad even 30 minutes after the show had finished ./. people singing the vertigo riff everywhere .... totally charged up they were ...
lets call it evolution huh ?
  3. last one ... but is was a funny fact .... now that I am downloading the 15th .... I could see I did get the other two east rutherford shows from the days before ... never managed to continue my hunt for completion .... so the 15th was still marked red, now is gonna be orange too ...
    ciao ciao
  4. space bar dude
  5. I can't believe I've yet to mention the Mirrorball Man's rant at the end of "Desire" during the Zoo TV show in Washington (Summer '92). The "I have a vision...television..." rant is absolutely classic. I really hope they remaster that show when the Achtung Baby deluxe edition comes out...in two years?
  6. Favourite one has to be WOWY with "Shine Like Stars" and "Love Will Tear Us Apart" Makes a great song brilliant and filled with more emotion

    Also love dieder's new avatar

I completely agree. I see no point at all why they don't play the extended parts each time they play the song. Are they that lazy that they can't extend those two songs each time they play them, it's not like they are rarities, or very difficult to play either (the click tracks and some of the pre-recorded sound are bad enough.). They play both songs at pretty much every show. I felt kind of gypped that they didn't play the extended parts when I saw them Chicago, were the fans not deserving enough to hear those parts performed? It would be as easy as cake to play the extra verses every time. Think of how many people would be appreciative if they played it like that all the time.

It would be like going to see Pink Floyd/Gilmour and him only playing a two minute solo of Comfortably Numb.
  8. Indeed they have to extend Vertigo like on the Vertigo tour. That last riff with the 'yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah' is rocking

can life with current extension though
  9. Here's a few more:

With Or Without You from washington 1992 has a pretty cool guitar solo in it. You can see Edge signalling to the band just before going into it on the DVD of that show.

Running To Stand Still has an extended intro during one of the 1989 point depot shows. It's not the 26th and not the new years gig so maybe one of the other shows.

Angel Of Harlem has a snippet of Suspicious Minds in one of these shows too.

Love Comes To Town used to have some snippets of "In The Morning Hour" during this tour as well. Again, check out the point depot shows.

But they're snippets, not extended bits I guess.

The version of Kite from the Window In The Skies singler can't be beat and I was at this show so better still.

I'm sure there's a longer version of Bad from one of the Wembley Stadium ZooTV shows too that features a guy on violin I think.

    I'm sure there's a million more...
  10. WOWY Cork City 1987 is very extended, as well as SBS (this one is kinda restarted at the end).

Also LA Colliseum 1987 has long Bad WOWY, and Running to Stand Still, these two have the most beautiful snippets I've heard. Don't know which songs, I think Bono is ad lib-ing.

Oh, Chicago '87 (the soundboard one) has a extended version of Bad too.
