1. If javascript is turned off there should be a yellow bar at the top warning you for issues like this

  2. I have the same problem on the profile section (ie, the first link you provided). I'm using Internet Explorer version 8.0.6001.18702IC.

For prosperity's sake, I'm going to install the latest version of Java. Think I already have it, but I'll give it a whirl and report back.

    Thanks for your help, everyone!

Java wont do any good. Java is something different than Javascript.
I am running IE8 version 8.0.7600.16385 which is available in Windows 7 only. Are you running Vista?

Does it work when you click the cut paper icon next to the addressbar and the refresh/stop icon?

I will try to find a Vista IE8 to test with

I'm running Windows XP Version 2002 with Service Pack 3. Never used Vista before.

The latest Beta version has the same issues for me.

Ok will try to find an XP machine with IE8 to test with Havent found problems on Vista though. What kind of security software are you running? Some software suits are known to cause more problems then they cure.

  6. The Compatibility View / Refresh trick works! Thanks for the tip!

I use AVG for anti-virus software. To my knowledge, it doesn't interfere with other programs' fuctionality...other than being a memory hog. Perhaps that's the issue?
