1. "These are a few of my favorite things..." ... t'is 5 of the 11 'ladies'.

    Left to Right
2002 Rickenbacker 330 (6-string) burgundy glo finish (fairly rare finish)
2006 Epiphone Music Rising Les Paul
1998 Fender 'Eric Clapton' model Stratocaster (needs the Rene' Castro paintjob, eh?)
2004 Fender Telecaster Custom (similar to the one Edge used in the "Vertigo" video, only mine is black instead of walnut finish)
1976 Ltd. Edition Gibson Explorer (Same make, model and vintage as our guitar hero)
  2. You are a damn, damn, damn, DAMN BASTARD, Jeff.

How can I look to my three sad guitars?

Glad for you, though. Congrats, they all are fucking awesomely good looking
  3. I am not sucha bastard. I'm actually a pretty good person, most days.

Your guitars aren't that sad now, are they? Even if they are not your dream guitars now, they are a good starting point.

In time and savings you can get something great like an Eric Johnson Stratocaster or Gibson Les Paul Custom... maybe even a vintage guitar. Just takes time and the discipline to save.

Wasn't trying to make anyone feel bad. Just had a request for a picture recently and posted it here too to share.

  4. Why are you complaining?
You have THREE guitars, I only have one and some people have none!

Dude don't you have an artisan les paul?
  6. No I don't, it's property of my grandfather. I use it every now and then, but it's sadly not mine... yet!!!!

Don't worry, Jeff, I didn't feel bad at all, it all was just a way to say how much admired I was of your awesome collection. Congrats again
  7. Hey Jeff, how does the music rising les paul sound? Does it sound basically like an epi custom? Or is it better? I remember when these were being sold on musiciansfriend I always wanted to get one...

The Epiphone LP sound good. I do find the pickups are a bit 'shrill' for my liking. If it weren't more of a 'collector piece', I'd certainly swap out the p'ups for T-tops.
  9. Question: Which way do you push the pickup selector on my Epi Explorer to get the treble pickup, It doesn't say in my manual and im not 100% sure. You flick away from the bridge right?

Also what does the Tone control do? Should I turn it fully clockwise or anticlockwise when i'm sending a signal to the M13?
  10. UPDATES ON ADAM's AGUILAR AMPS:

I heard back from Aguilar Amplifiers today.

Here's the latest info on Adam's bass rig. There was a change in bass amp heads around the time of the Fall Premiere of Saturday Night Live. This is when Adam switched from using (3) DB 750 amp heads to (3) of the newer DB 751 heads.

(David might have been delivering the upgraded DB751 amps the day that the picture was taken at The Meadowlands).

The rig Adam is using is a DB 751 amplifier with a DB 410 cabinet and a DB 115 cabinet (both cabinets in Classic Black). Links and prices below. They are as follows:

    (3) http://www.aguilaramp.com/products_amplifiers_db751.htm = $2,149.00 (Amazon - yes, THAT Amazon.)
    (3) http://www.aguilaramp.com/products_cabinets_db410.htm = $999.00 (Amazon)
    (3) http://www.aguilaramp.com/products_cabinets_db115.htm = $749.50 (Amazon)

[He was using (3) http://www.aguilaramp.com/products_amplifiers_db750.htm during the promo shows and much of the tour, until around the time of the Fall 2009 Saturday Night Live SNL premiere show. The DB750 is no longer in production.]

That said - There are alternative to get similar Adam tones - From Aguilar - At a bit of a lower price.

    This from Aguilar:
You are right that Adam's tone is a combination of elements. s far as the Aguilar part of his sound, I would recommend either a DB 410 (ideally) or a DB 210 with an AG 500 for a more portable rig. The DB 210 and the AG 500 would not be much bigger than a combo but would sound similar to Adam's rig. The AG 500 with the DB 410 would be closer.

    Aguilar AG 500 ($1235.00) + Aguilar DB 410 (like Adam uses / $999.00) = $2234.00

    or

    Aguilar AG 500 ($1235.00) + Aguilar DB 210 ($699.00) = $1934.00

Don't confuse the Aguilar AG 500 and the Aguilar AG500SC they are completely different animals (and prices) with the AG500 costing the aforementioned $1235.00 and the AG500SC costing $999.00 - Not a horrible deal but I don't think that it will get you as close to Adam's U2:360 bass tone.

Well good thing i'm not a bassist going for Clayton's sound I'll keep playing happily on my Vox AC30 thank you very much

  12. Well even an AC30 can be a bit pricey. But it is SO worth the money!
