hey, I am not on the list, wasnt sure if I could make it etc ...
but did manage to in the ned ...
and have very much enjoyed listening to the show tonight !
actually, will go for a sort of skip and go encore ...

and yes ... one tree hill is amaz`ing ... good tempo and bass is very present ... strong start, kaboom goes larry ... and then its amazing how edge fits all these notes in ... and around 3 minutes it sounds like Joe is actively mixing, wrking the faders with the break, and the slightly too loud drums coming in .... ? anyway, that is what I see in the inside of my head when I listen to these things ...

Performance:
very solid show, almost to be called "professional" .... gloria ... yeah ... bad : very very inspired bono, you can hear the mike drop , there is probably a happy japanese girlie at that moment ...
edge is pushing it entering bullet ... it suits both tracks he squeezes together there ! uncomfortably eery and propelling at the same time ... me like that ! 11 o clock tick tock stylee.

i think for what I can hear and "imagine" they are doing a great job, ..
man, you literally hear them clapping everywhere ... singing when they can .. yep for 1989 japan :

I do like the sound a lot, very direct with amazing things to be discovered all the time !
there seems to be an active battle in the low end going on .. trying to get the kick and adams bass defined ... especally with the bbking thingie .... interesting stuff ..

OK guys, I've posted on the show pages and here is my review:

Performance: 4.5/5

Fabulous. They played like a band who knew they'd gone as far as they could with a project, were possibly on the verge of reaaly pushing it too far, and they still didn't care, giving it their all and putting on a great show.

Bono's voice is strong, Edge is his usual great self and Larry seems to have a wonderful night too! Adam for me always shines a little more when he has chance to - for example in Gloria and "40", where his bass line/solo are the crux of the song.

Audience: 4/5
Obviuosly they were a little more rowdy than can be heard on the bootleg with what Bono is saying, and I feel the band always play better when there's a good crowd, so my rating usually is the roughly same for performance and audience.

Sound: 5/5
Great sound, especially considering it's 20 years ago. No complaints from me.

I like Lovetown because it throws up some real surprise sets and this tops the lot. Opening by playing over a recorded Stand By Me, with Edge singing a whole verse to himself, followed by Pride and New Years Day was a shock! I personally enjoy some proper rock towards the end of a concert and so was delighted to hear All Long The Watchtower so late on

The major highlight for me is the run from MLK - One Tree Hill - Streets - Gloria - Help - Bad. All wonderful songs on there own, but the way they were put together here is a prime example of how U2 can really pound your senses and emotions in a live show. The segues between One Tree Hill - Streets - Gloria make you wonder why they haven't continued to play those three songs as a staple of every show.

The other highlight was Slow Dancing. A very pretty song, played tenderly.

Disappointments for me begin and end with Pride. It's not one of my favourites to start with but when they put their absolute heart and soul into it I feel it just lifts the song to another level. With Pride being almost first up I thought this would be the case, but it's as if it's used just as a warm-up and they only really get going when New Years Day kicks in. Shame.

All in all it's a boot that should probably be in every fans' collection

Can I just say that as a first timer to BRT I have loved the process. I've found a boot that I probably wouldn't have downloaded without being told to and I've given it a proper listen 3 or 4 times. I can't wait for the next choice.

i listened to the show. i need another listen because my week has been filled with so much stress. review should be up tomorrow evening since a lot of the stress is solved, sort of. sorry about the delay.

It's really great to have you too! Nice first-up review and yeah I agree about having a chance to download boots you may not otherwise have listened to.

Performance:
First off, I like how they start with Stand By Me, Bono trys to put some power into it at the end and strangley I was dissappointed they went into Pride, I would've liked something a bit more laidback. Perhaps Desire. It's an ok performance of Pride, though the crowd could've made it so much better. Always nice to hear New Year's Day make an apperance on a live show, though I think the bass lacked a lot of punch. Still a very acceptable performance. Loving the way I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For opens up. That's about all I can say about it, the rest is pretty average. Still lacking bass. I like People Get Ready, nice little filler. MLK is as good as it always is and it's followed up by a rather nice One Tree Hill. Can you go wrong with Streets? No. Very good performance I'd say. Think I've finally gotten into the bootleg and looking at the remaining setlist I might enjoy the listen. Nice rocking performance of Gloria and an enjoyable performance of Bad. Nice Van Diemans Land from Edge. Standard Bullet The Blue Sky calmed down by a peaceful Running To Stand Still though it just seems to die halfway through. Would've liked a "Still running" from the crowd like in Rotterdam. Didn't like Slow Dancing on this occasion. Have high expectations for Angel of Harlem, pretty fine piece of music on the Lovetown Tour. It delivered. Not the best from the Tour but still very worthwhile. Sluggish segue lol, should've been bang in there. Minor issue however. Decent When Love Comes To Town. Ok rendition of Love Rescue Me. Love the way The Edge just threw that opening chord of Desire out and let it hang. Should've gone straight into it after that but hey.Was a good bouncy performance. All Along The Watchtower doesn't belong here this late on in my opinion. But it's a good end to the show, solid performances of All I Want Is You and '40'.

Thought it was a closed soundcheck.

In all fairness they come and go. Probably louder than the recording make out.

Sound: It's clear. Vocals come through well, guitar is very audible. It does lack some bass though and that's a real shame.

Overall:
All in all it was a good listen. Not the bext Lovetown out there but that shouldn't detract from what is a good bootleg. Some good performances in there, given it's own character with the vocal only intro to I Still Haven't Found. Got some decent snippets in there that work well with the songs they're in. I probably won't rush to listen to it again, but I'm sure that I will some time in the future.

Highlights
- Stand By Me - Good opening song I think.
- I Still Haven't Found Intro - Like the way Bono starts with the vocals and then Edge fades in.
- Desire - That ringing chord at the start could have been used for a very memorable performance. Almost like Vertigo on the 360 tour when that noise builds up and the drums come in and then it reaches a crescendo and then it's rips into the song. Something like that could've been done here I think and it's would've been good to hear.

Lowlights
- Bass levels - Really degrade the long term listenability of the bootleg and really drags some songs down with it.
- Setlist is a little muddled I think, could've been rearranged for more effect.
