It had two dates, the same as Zagreb, London, Paris, Gothenberg etc. It's really not that special. I don't even feel the need to point out which city was the only one to get 3 dates...

Not obsessed.Just pointing out they love to play here. They are playing on July 19,2010.You can say that is the 3rd show from the 360 tour here in NYC.First 2 were 09.23 and 09.24.09.Iam happy they are going to play here......again.Sorry if you dont like that......but too bad. I was pointing out that they love to perfrom here in NYC.

The number of times proved it.Is it a big deal ??No..of course not.I was responding to a quote that was said they love Boston more than NYC.This is a forum about a rock band.Nothing that is said here is important in the big picture.Right ? ? I just like the banter ,regarding the anti-American crowd stuff from CERTAIN Europeans.Its..amusing and entertaining to read.

  2. Because of the amount of gigs played in NY? With that argument you can say they love playing other cities, too. Dublin, Boston and Chicago just to name a few. And my thought is: is it U2 themselves or Paul McGuiness who loves playing NYC? It brings lots of $$$ and McG surely wouldn't schedule that many shows there it he weren't sure they'd earn a big load. Do you think it's actually U2 who decide where they play?

And I don't get why you always talk about how much U2 love playing NY because they play lots of gigs there when this is a topic about audiences.

96,000 was enough to make a proper singalong. Didn't quite work out did it...
  3. U2 Scotland, need i say more, deffo the best rockers around us scots, even more so when the boys hit the town, listen to the war or unforgettable fire recordings, the chills still run down my spine. the audiance has matured a lot since these mad mental early days (myself included) but we still put on one hell of a show. Bono and thew boys know what to expect from us, by the way if you are reading this you still owe us for Walk on. we scots have a long memory...........................

Dublin comes a close second, peeps south of scotland IMHO just dont get it.

I know this about the audience.I said many times over,I have seen the band here in NYC and elsewhere.I think the NYC crowds are great.Hello...IM TALKING ABOUT THE NEW YORK AUDIENCE YURI....U2 love to play here.Accept it.Im sure you dont agree..thats fine.I really could care less. This is my humble opinion.Dont take things so personal.Look at past tours Yuri.North America always gets 2 legs.See Elevation,Vertigo..even PoP.Europe did not.As of now..the band are only playing Glastonbury Festival next year.No other U.K. dates..Why is that??.For the first time in 25 years the band failed to kick off a tour in America.Bono lives here right??..I know he has places in Dublin (as he should) and France. The band have written many songs about NY as well(Blinding Lights,AOH,NY).So..yes it obvious they love it here. Why do I say that??Because alot of the Euros like to mock American audiences. And my reply is.."If we suck..why does the band play here so often?"For the money??.The band can sell out almost anywhere. Not just big cities. But,it is a matter of opinion. My 2 shows from the 360 tour at Giants Stadium were great. The audience was fantastic.We..... "got it".The R&H tunes from Tempe are great.I dont know why people get so bent out of shape because I dare mention the band love playing here.Just accept it...Jeez

I just pointed out you often say U2 play lots of gigs in NY and they love it there, whille you don't seem to add a reference to the audience itself And don't worry, I believe that New York audiences are good, surely better than the one we saw in the webcast. Why did U2 kick off Elevation and Vertigo in America? Because it's the biggest market and those two albums were selling very well. And U2 may love New York, I think it could be a great city even though I've never been there, but I'm pretty sure it's McG who decides how many gigs they play there. I reckon New York is one of the places where they earn the biggest load. The band might have a word about where they'd like to play, but it's actually the manager who makes the final decision.

Agreed. My only point is that they seem to play here more than Europe.I think that is a bit odd, considering they are a European band.I would think they would play Ireland for 10 nights or more.Bruce Springsteen plays New Jersey the most amount of nights each tour.He is from there and still lives there.Im kinda shocked that the band are only playing one show in the U.K. next summer.I travel tour Europe quite often,I was hoping to see the band in London.I will try to grab some tix to the Glastonbury show.I saw Radiohead at Glastonbury in 2003.It was fantastic.Crowd was amazing.
  8. European crowds are far better than America and of 360 crowds, Berlin was the most rocking for me. Special mention to Scotish crowds (obviously) who always go mad for U2!

Slane Castle aside, I found Dublin to be a let down both at Vertigo and 360. Wont be back at Croke im afraid.

  9. Good read there. That is my point.I hate stadium shows. There are alot of people there who just go for a look.At arena shows, you have 18,000 true fans.If you have a bad seat at a stadium gig, like the folks in that picture, you cant get into the show.I saw the PoP gig at Giants Stadium 05.31.97.I had crap seats.I felt like I was 2 miles away from the band. I did not enjoy it.I was forced to watch the video screen of the band. They were like the size of ants from my seats.I couldnt get into it at all. There really isnt a bad seat at an arena show.If you are sitting straight away its still not bad,and you feel like a part of the show. Not like a spectator. I have been lucky these past 3 tours.Since I have been in the fan club for the past 10 years Iam able to secure great seats. But,if you have a crap seat at a stadium show..you are screwed.

That is your opinion, and you are entitled to it.I think American crowds go wild for some artists, not so wild for others. When Bruce played the Glastonbury Festival this year, the crowd was dead for him. Then, the crowd went nuts for Blur. They sang like crazy during Tender. But did nothing during Bruces set. That was a shock to me.We Americans go wild for Bruce..because he is one of us.I have never seen a crowd so dead at a Bruce show.I was not there, but have seen the show many times over, since Im a fan of Bruce and Blur.I saw Bruce 2 nights last month at Giants Stadium. They were far louder than the 2 U2 shows I attended at the same stadium.I have no explanation for that.Other than maybe its because we relate more to Bruce,as Europeans do to Blur singing about Park Life.
