    Thats what Bono tell us every night. Lets decide what are the song that they can barely play.

  3. No it's just another interpretation of the song. It's Popmart-ish. I like it.

    Songs they can't play: The Unforgettable Fire. Too heavy back tracked, and in general Bono's singing isnt that good (exceptions: I like the Berlin, Amsterdam ones though)


  4. He sang it very well on the second Zagreb night. So much power in the Shine Like Stars snippet.

    I agree that The Unforgettable Fire doesn't sound live as good as on the album. Acrobat would most likely not work either.

    he just cant sing it any more. His voice has lost all of its power when he sings slow and at low volume. Listen to the album versions of WOWY and Your Blue Room compared to how he's singing them live. He can sing other stuff grand but he's lost that slow paced strength. Lost it in 95

    but therefore Your Blue Room and WOWY are not directly bad as they play it. I still massively enjoyed them live (ok, did not hear YBR in Amsterdam), but instrumental still very, very good. Although Your Blue Room is also a bit heavy back-tracked...


  8. I don't know...I believe the voice is still there, it just doesn't show up very often. Listen to Ultra Violet from Milan 2. The improvised line sounded like ZooTV Bono to me and the ultravioleeeeet was so powerful.

    yep he can still belt out some great stuff. Theres power there certainly, but mostly top end. It was his slow voice that I always admired, WOWY verses, Slow Dancing, MLK etc. He hasn't put a new spin on those songs. He just can't sing them like that no more. Maybe when he gets a lot older his top end will drop off giving him that low end again.

    I never picked instrumental faults with either songs. Just saying Bono can't sing WOWY like he used and wants to. He just can't deliver them verses and Shine Like Stars alone can't turn a poor delivery of a masterpiece.

    I think he just doesn't try hard enough. If he focused more, he'd do better. Anyway, I've been recently listening to their performance of The Wanderer for Johnny Cash memorial a lot and B did a great job there. Not to mention The Edge.

    How about White As Snow? That's is proof he still has it. I know it's not live but...
