1. That was Interference bullshit, I dunno how could you believe it. Disappointing, Drew.

I talked to Paul McGuinness the other day, last saturday, because he wanted to announce the 2nd spanish date, and he called me to my mobile phone... I asked him which would be the opener in 2010 and he told me that they're planning to rotate a bit more the setlsits, and the opening will be Zooropa most of the times, but every now and then they will throw the infamous Super Duper Dance Disco Trance Zooromancer remix of Rejoice, mixed with Cedars Of Lebanon. Without vocals, by the way.

Ah, and the encore will consist of 4 diferent Magnificent remixes played semi-live by the band, with vocals by Bono with some Daniel Lanois backing.

    Trust me.
  2. I like Grace, a nice little gem, they should never play it live, it's too special for that, same as Promenade, Man and a woman and White as Snow

How can I trust you when you don't trust me? A guy in giant pink sunglasses says it's true!

If they don't start rotating the setlists - Zooropa and the SDDDTZRR (Rejoice) will make Glastonbury rock.

Four? Why not a whole show with 23 remixes??? Why???

    He wasn't serious, obviously

My secret has been revealed. Fuck.

As for Grace, I don't mind it. Nice little song but it's spoilt nearly half-way through when it's mentioned 'Grace it's a name for a girl'. The trick, especially with U2 is to keep the secret or truth of the matter withheld. Not revealing it.

    He's more confident than Bono

PS. The SDDDTZRR thing made me laugh xD Because that would be too much for our poor minds, we wouldn't appreciate the greatness of such show.

By the way, (and going [even a bit more] offtopic), I start to think that Songs Of Ascent will be composed entirely of remixes of Magnificent, Crazy Tonight and GOYB. Great album for sure Guess how the singles will be

Agree. These songs would work really well in an intimate/smaller setting but wouldn't go over as well in front of tens of thousands of people. They are great on their original CD either in the car or around the house. That's why songs like the one's you've listed (as well as So Cruel and Drowning Man) are probably best left as "snippets" or not played at all.
  6. Bring in Mofo, Last Night On Earth, The Fly, Even Better Than The Real Thing and co and we have ourselves one hell of a party.

Not as bad as IGCIIDGCTRKTDI - try remembering that.

That's what the U2.com subscriber gift is gonna be. An English guitarist wearing a beanie said so. I trust his opinion.

Thats alot for one ticket.I paid $77 gor GA to see PJ,a bit over $150 for the 2 shows and heard 59 different songs. But my point is if you play the SAME city, you know U2 will have fans, like me,that go BOTH nights.I hate to say it,but its not worth it.Not to see the same gig.And not for $250 a ticket.

You were ripped off paying that much.

Just go one night. Simple. No-one forced you to go to 2 successive nights. And comparing U2 and Pearl Jam is a silly exercise in my opinion. They are so different; it's like comparing Christina Aguilera and Green Day.

I see what you are saying, they are very well different. u2 is more popular and likes big gigs while pj is a band that loves throwing gigs for the real fans. u2 can´t do that due to their position.

but, u2 could rotate more. I mean, out of 46 songs every night they play only 3 different then the night before. I don´t care about the order, it can stay alike. But for example, they could play 5-6 different form day to day. Rotate the encore opener (Ultraviolet and Zooropa for example). drop WOWY and put crazy tonight regular there. in the slot of crazy remix put a 90´s song (gone, LNOE or Mofo). The acoustic set can also have a lot more variation because it is just B and the Edge, they can have a total of 5-10 in their sleeves! See, there is already about 10-15 songs they haven´t played yet. I wish they´d keep the hits regular so the casual fans in the stadium are happy and the real fans get thrilled with surprises and pearls.

    Imagine:

    Get on your boots

(these three can rotate like in ZOOTV)
    Breathe
    NLOTH
    Maginficent

    B-Day
    Elevation OR I Will Follow
Until the end of the world OR Mysterious Ways
    I Still Haven´t Found

(acoustic set - 2 slotsfor a sea of possibilities heheheh)
Stay, Stuck in a moment, Desire, Angel of Harlem, Party Girl, Please, In God´s country, WGRYWH, Sometimes...

    Unknown Caller OR ES rarely
The Unforgettable Fire OR A sort of homecoming
    COBL
    Vertigo
Gone OR Last Night on Earth OR Mofo
    Sunday Bloody Sunday
    Pride
Where the Streets Have no name
    One
    Walk On
Bad - very few times, special shows... otherwise leave this slot empty

    (encore)
    Ultraviolet OR Zooropa OR Discotheque
    Crazy Tonight regular
    All I Want Is You
Moment of surrender - 40 snippet

That´s about 40 different songs in the sleeves that I think pleaseures everyone ;p

PS: I love going to two gis of the same band just to see different song, i donpt expect the band to cange the whole set like PJ, but at least 5-6

yea i really like this idea. I dont think SOA is coming out any time soon so this is what U2 should do.
