    ok it seems two DVD`s wil be ready shortly...

    rose bowl re-edit....this basically is `the north american` leg...or the `second half` of the u2ubed european leg....it includes pro-shot and various cut-aways from that leg of the tour...plus above all a re-edit of the audio track that contained alot of problems.
    ready in 10days.

    second is the wembley 14th august show...this is `as it is`...no cuts from other shows, audio and some edits needed to finish this show...should be ready within the next 7 days.

    both DVD`s will be the same format as the u2ubed DVD..avaliable to order, and also for download.
    DVD9 versions will be made avaliable to members who wish to upload.
    purchased DVD`s will be DVD5 format.
    Rose Bowl will contain stereo and 5.1
    Wembley will contain just a stereo mix, crowd dubbing and other fx will be added.
    both will have full chapter/menu`s and also contain various `extra`s` including songs that have not previously been edited, blue room, electric storm and bad....also some footage from the tour and some `no line` remixes.
    both DVD`s are approx 127mins

    sorry for the lack of contact....hardware and software updates, plus some other work i had to do...hopefully now the project can be finished.
    Chicago footage that has been edited will be held back...with the release of the rose bowl plus i believe another `chicago dvd` already done...its seems pointless releasing our version..the rose bowl DVD captures enough of the american leg.

    both DVD`s are looking good so far...

    I think I will speak on behalf of everyone here when saying that all your hard work is much appreciated (and that is an UNDERSTATEMENT). Lack of communication only seems to imply that u2start is your fulltime job..Having said that, probably more than fulltime in some periods :-))))

    Let me know if there is anything else I can do on wembley-audio. I have noticed that mp3's have quite some distortion, much less with the FLAC (even none on my headset...just occassionally a whole lot of SOUND :-), but nevertheless there is still some distortion every time i burn flac directly onto cd...and listen to it on 5 way speakerset....which can be a bit disturbing.

    Anyway, we are grateful untill the end of time for your efforts!

    and i believe even if you provided the footage, you should still order it like everyone else, it pays for his hard work in making the dvd and the postage

    Hi Prideofzootv,

    I feel like jumping to JAY's defence here...he initiated this whole project and collected some 11 dvd's full of original footage (after getting approval from all the tapers), so not exactly a job done in a few days. But I am sure Gen and Jay can work this out between themselves :-)

    I also know that Jay has worked very hard indeed trying to find as much footage as possible for this DVD, which i'm sure will be amazing, would also be a nice touch to have his name in the credits for compiling all the footage, without his work, this DVD would never have been made.

    Many thanks to Jay & Gen and whoever else helped out making these possible.

  10. sorry i wasnt trying to be bitchy it was just a suggestion, apologies if it was taken the wrong way, obviously i really appreciate the fact alot of footage has been donated to the great cause, i just meant it obviously takes an aweful lot of effort to make a dvd so a couple quid isnt too much to ask really for postage and to cover how much time he has put into these dvds.

    like i said it wasnt trying to be like a "no you should pay like everyone else" sorta thing, not by a mile, it was just you know i dont know how to say it, like a token to show how appreciative we are for taking the time to make a fantastic dvd?

    No Problem at all my friend, I'll pay like everyone else if gen wants me to?, It did take alot of time and emails collecting all that footage from filmers all over Europe, Including me who filmed for over an hour!

    Can't wait to see the end product .
