Is it just me or are you obsessed with the number of dates that occur in NY? Pointing out that NY had more dates on the last tour than any other city - what about this tour? It had two dates, the same as Zagreb, London, Paris, Gothenberg etc. It's really not that special. I don't even feel the need to point out which city was the only one to get 3 dates...![]()

Because of the amount of gigs played in NY? With that argument you can say they love playing other cities, too. Dublin, Boston and Chicago just to name a few. And my thought is: is it U2 themselves or Paul McGuiness who loves playing NYC? It brings lots of $$$ and McG surely wouldn't schedule that many shows there it he weren't sure they'd earn a big load. Do you think it's actually U2 who decide where they play?
And I don't get why you always talk about how much U2 love playing NY because they play lots of gigs there when this is a topic about audiences.
96,000 was enough to make a proper singalong. Didn't quite work out did it...

Bono and thew boys know what to expect from us, by the way if you are reading this you still owe us for Walk on. we scots have a long memory...........................
Dublin comes a close second, peeps south of scotland IMHO just dont get it.![]()

I know this about the audience.I said many times over,I have seen the band here in NYC and elsewhere.I think the NYC crowds are great.Hello...IM TALKING ABOUT THE NEW YORK AUDIENCE YURI....U2 love to play here.Accept it.Im sure you dont agree..thats fine.I really could care less. This is my humble opinion.Dont take things so personal.Look at past tours Yuri.North America always gets 2 legs.See Elevation,Vertigo..even PoP.Europe did not.As of now..the band are only playing Glastonbury Festival next year.No other U.K. dates..Why is that??.For the first time in 25 years the band failed to kick off a tour in America.Bono lives here right??..I know he has places in Dublin (as he should) and France. The band have written many songs about NY as well(Blinding Lights,AOH,NY).So..yes it obvious they love it here. Why do I say that??Because alot of the Euros like to mock American audiences. And my reply is.."If we suck..why does the band play here so often?"For the money??.The band can sell out almost anywhere. Not just big cities. But,it is a matter of opinion. My 2 shows from the 360 tour at Giants Stadium were great. The audience was fantastic.We..... "got it".The R&H tunes from Tempe are great.I dont know why people get so bent out of shape because I dare mention the band love playing here.Just accept it...Jeez![]()

I just pointed out you often say U2 play lots of gigs in NY and they love it there, whille you don't seem to add a reference to the audience itselfAnd don't worry, I believe that New York audiences are good, surely better than the one we saw in the webcast. Why did U2 kick off Elevation and Vertigo in America? Because it's the biggest market and those two albums were selling very well. And U2 may love New York, I think it could be a great city even though I've never been there, but I'm pretty sure it's McG who decides how many gigs they play there. I reckon New York is one of the places where they earn the biggest load. The band might have a word about where they'd like to play, but it's actually the manager who makes the final decision.

Interesting article on @U2 today:-

Makes some good points. Discusses staid nature of American stadium audience. Etc...

Slane Castle aside, I found Dublin to be a let down both at Vertigo and 360. Wont be back at Croke im afraid.
