  2. Lol, last time Led Zeppelin played a festival like gig it sucked ass (live aid anyone?).
    I hope this thing will be televised! Muse? U2? (coldplay..... ) it would be an awesome show.

    You may not like Coldplay, but at least realize that if they're included, this would be one of the biggest festival lineups EVER- those are 3 of the biggest bands in the world right now.
  4. What I forgot to mention before was this comes from the UK's biggest tabloid newspaper The Sun.

    Take it with a grain of salt, or even less of salt. Regardless there's a 95% chance it won't happen.




  5. U2 to appear in January's Q Magazine. There should be an interview with them in it, too, so we might get some news on Songs of Ascent. Hopefully we'll get some scans
  6. It's been just announced that the guys have been nominated in the category for "Best Rock Album" at the 52nd Grammy Awards. They are up against some stiff competition though:

    Best Rock Album
    AC/DC – Black Ice
    Eric Clapton & Steve Winwood – Live From Madison Square Garden
    Green Day – 21st Century Breakdown
    Dave Matthews Band – Big Whiskey and the Groogrux King
    U2 – No Line on the Horizon

    Crazy Tonight is nominated for Best Rock Song and Best Rock Performance By A Duo or Group with Vocal
  9. Hopefully they'll win one for Crazy Tonight, 'cause there's no way they win for Rock Album, unfortunately...pretty sure either Dave Matthews or Green Day will take that one.

    And they have more chance of winning best rock album than best rock song, Crazy Tonight has gotten hardly any airpla (plus LiTii should win, its better than Crazy Tonight)

    As I mentioned on Twitter to JohnnyVoxx, it's too hard of a record for the shitstream to accept.

    They'd rather mindless crap by Kings Of Leon or Lady Gaga - which really, don't require much of anything on the listener and when I listen to those records I get a feeling of deja vu like this crap has been done before but fortunately much better.

    Vertigo was a brainless exercise in how a rock song should not sound with a bit of iAdvertising thrown in for good measure and Elevation - well...that's just an example of how not to make a song. I have to say, I do like the video of that song though.

    Actually I have to disagree with you on a lot of points here. First, while No Line might not be all that mainstream, neither was Allison Kraus and Robert Plant's record, and it won a bunch of Grammys last year (including album of the year...). Also, Lady GaGa is damn entertaining, and she's also quite fresh and original.

    And P.S.- Vertigo rocks and Elevation is amazing. (As I've said a million times haha)
