1. I really like that new version , the first one to much coldplay
And i really like bono's voice on the new version
  2. I like the Linear version better.
  3. I really like this new version, from the 90 seconds I thought the lyrics fit better to the metric of the song and are better, B´s voice is awesome and the song is not so normal, it´s stripped down, but not average. Keep on that road

Actually I think it will be in the new album SOA, because now it seems to fit better with Kingdom, doesn´t it? (If there is a new album)

  4. I've listened to it. If there'll be a new album and that will be the new direction I'll say it's okay. But I still prefer the Linear version. Bono's voice is better there.

It won't be the direction SOA will take (at least not with Eno at the helm), this is probably an edit just for the film. The Linear version was probably not gritty (or American) enough so they chucked out the strings and echoey guitar and made it a good old fashioned folk ballad like White as Snow to better suit the film.

But the string section and the tinkling guitar was primarily what made the song good in the first place, Bono's singing not so much.
  6. Bono's vocals are more prominent. Melodic less CP. Possible an improvement, too early to judge though
  7. If it went up tempo a la the Linear version after the previewed verse, it could be one of their best in years.
  8. i like the new mix
  9. Liked the Linear version more.

  10. Can't listen yet my phone won't play it off the site. I was very happy with the Linear version. My ideal mix would take the CP esque strings out and just have the edge intro and a shortened outro ( not a fan of the dramatic ohhs at the end). These changed along with a proper mastering ( quality lacking a bit on the audio side IMO) makes it an almost perfect song IMO.
  11. I didn't think it was possible to dislike any version more than the Linear version, but apparently that's not so. This new version is quite possibly even worse. But I guess at least they've left off the 'butter on toast' line.
  12. I'm not sure how I feel about it. I really want to hear the whole version, but I do think I like the Linear version better. I hope the line about "being born a son" is still in the song, though I'm thinking it won't be since the character in the movie has two daughters.
