1. But the lyrics hurt my soul. The rhyme schemes are excruciating and the new version sounds like a demo track from my kid's first Casio. I can't believe the same people who wrote One and Love is Blindness churned out this schlock. I don't think you're ever going to convert me on this one.
  2. lol I'm listening to it right now, It's brilliant.
    Give it a shot.

Magnificent was brilliant when they were coming up with it.

    They over-produced it into mediocrity.

It would have been much better if Bono had put more power into the chorus, his singing there is just weak- same goes for some parts of Breathe. I much prefer the way he sings the chorus in it live than the way it's done on the record.
  4. After some time now I have to rewrite mine:

    1. White As Snow - great track, amazing lyrics
    2. Unknown Caller - great live, beautiful organ and guitar solo
    3. Magnificent - one of their best tracks
    4. No Line on The Horizon - full of energy, love the ooohs
    5. Moment of Surrender - great track, but somedays i just don´t feel like listening. it´s quite similar to pink floyd´s Lost fot Words.
    6. Breathe - Amazing track
    7. Fez - Being Born - reminds me of Zooropa, it touches me everytime
    8. Cedars of Lebannon - great, great tune, very experimental also

The tracks above vary a lot still. If were for them, and maybe if Kingdom, Winter and Mercy were in it, it woud be among JT and AB. Now it´s just another great Album because of some songs that might have been included to make it more accessible, they are solid songs, just don´t fit...

    9. Crazy Tonight - nice little tune but way too ATYCLB, doesn´t really fit
    10. Stand Up Comedy - great tune, but it seems so weird in between hese songs
    11. Get On Your Boots - Vertigo part 2

Still a great pretty solid album , in my top 5
  5. I think this is my 3rd list, I'll put Winter in now too like others have.

    1. Unknown Caller
    2. Breathe
    3. Winter
    4. Moment of Surrender

    12. White as Snow

It's really tough, apart from the top 3.

I wonder if that's what Edge was on about when he said he wished he'd stuck with his first instincts....
