    Logical, they had been touring for over one year then. I'm sure you would have enjoyed the 2006-06-01 Madrid show which I attended

    RHCP won't be the same wihout him, very sad indeed. He was/is their sound actually. Same if Edge would leave U2.

    hmm not really I think. RHCP can go on with another guitarist, U2 absolutely couldnt

  7. Agreed. I actually heard that his last shows in 2007 were pretty poor...so, he probaly used to add to th ebands music. Not anymore, his heart is no longer there.

    I agree, I love his stuff. But it would be very sad if they stop just because he quit. I believe that the three others still have a lot to say, and to play. Specially Flea. People always talk about Frusicante and forget how much Flea contributes to their music.

    Even though I agree that they shouldn't stop playing just cause he quit, I doubt I'd pay the money to see them live again. I seriously can't imagine a guitarist in that band that could top the live aura that Froosh created around the entire arena. I was in the cheap seats up on the side of the stage, and he climbed on the stage guard rail to solo to our sections multiple times. Talk about connecting with the crowd.

    Fair enough - just giving my opinion and my opinion is that I dont like this particular band.

    Not denying Frusciante is a talent but dont like the band as a whole - I am entitled to give my views
  10. Seeing yet another great band of the past 25 years change their line up reminds me of how special "our" band (U2, of course) really is. It blows me away that only once in thirty years has one of the four guys missed a show!

  12. for me this is potentially good news. although i am not denying he is an awesome talent i have not liked anything they have released with him this decade. they seemed to get progressively more dull with each album since californication and i was only a fan of a few tracks on that...

    for me the only time RHCP have been genuinely interesting was one hot minute. i know all the purists say that navarro was not the right guitarist for the band but i totally disagree. obviously he wasn't right in the chemistry sense but musically he forced them to change the way they sounded and that album is amazing for it!

    but that was cos navarro was such a strong personality in his own right.. they will prob end up with that session-esque guitarist who will do what he's told and play in the exact same style as frusciante in which case they will continue to be one of the most boring bands around.

    i liked RHCP during the one hot minute era for the same reason i loved U2 in the 90's - they seemed to have evolved musically and were making music that didnt sound like you'd expect but unfortunately that ended at the end of the 90's with the return of frusciante.
