1. 90s were my favourite, with PopMart and Zoo Tv and whatnot.

but overall, I'd say the 80s, for Live Aid and The Joshua Tree and their initial rise to fame.

  2. I see what you're saying, but is that nor blurring best with most important? 80's were the most important by a long shot, no questions.
  3. Definitely 90's.
80's were great but U2 are what they are because of their 90's... The top of innovative and experimental music... and, of course, their best tours Zoo TV and Popmart and best albums Achtung Baby, Pop and Zooropa.
  4. The 90's, no doubt about that. They were great in the 80's, but in the next decade they were genius. Got back to being great in the 00's. Not just great, but great.
  5. 80's for sure. They had such a raw energy in the 80's that can't even be compared with anything else they've done. I just watched a few JT shows the other day (LA show, Syracuse, and the Paris show) and although the live show doesn't have much production, the music made up for it, and then some. Now days (and in the 90's) half the show was the production, some poeple call a U2 show a production more than a concert, but in the 80's, it was purely them on a big box, singing their hearts out. The ZOOTV tour WAS amazing though, don't get me wrong, I love ZooTV, it's amazing, but I can't base the 90's off just ZooTV, Popmart was just alright in my opinion, but the whole decade of the 80's was amazing. Every tour they had energy, even during the early days when they weren't selling too many records, you listen to and watch shows, and it's as if they've sold millions, just beacuse of the energy they have. And the music in the 80's was to me by far the best. Every album they put out in the 80's was amazing. 80's 80's 80's.

  6. Apologies...I'm a smartass (at times) haha

    90's it is then
  7. Without a shadow of a doubt - the 80's.

U2 owned the 80's - biggest band of the decade by miles. 90's and 00's, whilst great, got nowhere near the phenomenon of the 80's
  8. 80's clearly in the lead so far.

EDIT: Maybe 80's and 90's neck and neck.
  9. Eighties for me

Joshua Tree is my fav Album

    Andy
  10. 80s. The 90s were brilliant and my favorite decade for them, but they needed to establish themselves first with a foundation of raw energy before they changed direction. You can't chop down a Joshua Tree without first building one.
  11. It's hard to decide but I'll take the eighties. They ruled the 80's. Of course the larger than life- ZooTV and PopMart -tours were innovative, but musically (particularly Bono's voice) they were better back then
