There was shitloads of pressure On Achtung Baby and Zooropa, and look how they turned out.
  2. I also don't think they have much to show for 4.5 years of recording.
NLOTH is definitely not as good as the amount of time spent on it would indicate (just look at Zooropa which took 2 months in comparision)

And we haven't even had a single proper b-side, so I don't think they been working too hard - well at least not at writing music.

the stuff they had in fez, i think about 40% of the greatness it had, was stripped from it.
  4. Am I the only one to think the new album might be shaping up? I mean, don´t Kingdom and the new Winter have a certain similarity in mood and feel? If that´s where they are going, boy I like it!

I'm with you. I'm really looking forward to properly listening to Kingdom. I can feel a very good quick follow up ala Zooropa. I just hope NLOTH doesn't take a back seat on the tour upon its release.
  6. Its been very quiet on this topic lately...but for some reason I like it, makes me think the boys are working really hard atm...
  7. I just hope they don't overproduce.

    Again.
  8. ...but if they do they should go all the way and hire this guy

    He's so talented.
  9. I am also excited to see a follow up to NLOTH, but I do want to mention that I don't necessarily think SOA should be a certain feel to it. Some people say that they should use some of the Rick Rubin sessions or use the new sessions with Winter and Kingdom. In todays world of music I think we all agree that people don't buy cd's anymore (or there is a small portion that do). Unfortunately everything is driven from singles and songs on ITunes and other music purchasing sites. I really just want to see U2 put together a group of great songs and not really worry about a feeling or texture. Take the Rubin/Kingdom/New recording sessions and take all the best songs and put them together. I think if the band does this they will be back on top again (even though I really enjoy NLOTH).

I think that unquestionably, the next album has to be great. But i´d really like to see something like zooropa in terms of a thing taht goes so well together...
