1. I think we just have to forget hoping of another Zooropa/Pop... that just won't happen unfortunately. I'm afraid that they're afraid that it won't sell well (which it probably won't if they put another experimental one out)
  2. ... just give me three chords and the truth.....

NLOTH sales were miserable so I'm hopping that they'll forget about charts this time and deliver something for the fans.

Miserable by U2's standards, otherwise it sold very well.

  5. Miserable by any standards, they sold only one million in USA?

  6. I do´n´t know how many albums were sold, but someone posted here or in another topic that it was the biggest selling album in amazon this year.

I just want a new album that goes well together, has a feel... don´t want songs that are in a different mood like in NLOTH... for me Crazy, Boots and SUC don´t fit in... they are great tracks but they are different from the rest... so, I don´t want an album "half and half" , I want an album that´s either rock OR experimental, not both, that´s well thought, with a good song order, with an overall mood, with an overall feel, yet not overproduced and that is great.

U2 needs to remember that a top selling album is not necessarily a good album and a weird album might also do well on charts just like KID A and Zooropa... they need to please the fans they already have and not try so much to get new fans... who wants everything might lose a lot

Come on U2! I still believe in you! hauhau

Remember Bono saying that he would love to make another hit single?

  8. Bono and his hit single ... hit singles: Vertigo, Elevation... they're all shit songs. If you compare them with Original Of The Species, Heartland, One Tree Hill, A Sort Of Homecoming, they weren't singles but they're still better songs than any singles. So just try to do good music and not music which gives money.

  10. Amen to that - how many hit singles does Bono need in his life? If U2 never had a #1 and they were hungry for their first I'd understand...but now it sounds like Bono's ego wasn't fed properly with NLOTH.

Two habits U2 needs to stop doing:

    - catering to fair weather fans instead of die hard fans (I'm thinking of Bono talking more about "singles" than new, interesting music, and the - IMO - awful setlist for 360)

    - praising each album (each one since Pop in my memory) as their "greatest ever" only to turn around and later pan the album, saying they "still have it in them to make their greatest album ever." That cycle has gotten a bit predictable to say the least.

Good call...though Original Of The Species was a single over here, and One Tree Hill in Australia if I'm correct. But good point
  12. I am expecting only a new U2 album, nothing more. It's hard to think and imagine what it will sound like so I don't. First they say this, then this and then that.
