    *update

    dvd will now be a few days later...still working on the audio mix.
    the 14th has been a tricky thing to get right, images are fine and we have a guide line for all the audio, but the audio mix just does not sound balanced enough.

    we are now looking at all the video footage again to try and retrieve some audio quality from them, plus we have over-dubs to complete with crowd acoustics.

    15th audio has to be converted also to 5.1....as both have to be edited then a delay of around 2-3 days is possible....but if i can make the 10th i will do.

    rose bowl as planned the 17th.

    just for the record.....check this track out, superb song from a band that wrote some pretty smart tunes.....then go build yourself a snowman!
    a beautiful song....anyone interested in more then check out `trick of the tail `to` abacab era...pure lyrical class.

  8. Hi Gen,

    Thanks for trying to get max out of it! If i remember correctly i was quite impressed by U2006com quality audio.

    I would also suggest using some of the KEVTIC source audio. If you consider the M!les recording as the leading vocal source (albeit with echo), consider Voynet for leading bass-source, the Kevtic would be in the middle (with advantage of no echo at all).
    I quite like his recording, but for mixing it was bit flat on bass and not strong enough on vocals..but could therefore be perfect to balance these out.

    Also have been discussing the coggster recording (only mp3 available), but for my ears I am more missing out on the bass than that the coggster audio adds (primarily vocals) to the mix. Also some near singing and clapping which distracts a bit.

    If you could tell me something more about what exactly you need to balance it out (could be hard to describe).. but does it have to do with volume, levels, clarity, overall sound etc??
    I can always try and make it happen :-)

    Maybe try this one for a sneak preview? :-) I think it sounds considerable better than my complete mix you have. Should only take couple of days to get this exactly right
    both sources do not have any major flaws or irritating side noises to distract/disturb.

    This combo really sounds good to my ears..and they have heard quite a bit..

    finished....U`Tubed DVD is now completed...details to follow...too tired to post them all now...

    audio has been a real pain...we managed to notch the EQ balance on a 40band unit..this has given a much better balance to the sound...although it never going to be perfect due to the original sources...we managed to combine various mixes using a combination of multitracks and filters...we have also added crowd noise to boost the ambient freq`s...overall its the best we can get it...once again thanks for all who have tried with this audio..its a shame the band do not release soundboard mixes...maybe one day!

    basic contents are:
    the complete 14th show.
    edited 15th show plus 12 extra songs and a mini documentary.

    i will give all the details tomorrow for the cover design...credits etc...

    Now...dont take this the wrong way...because without you guys this DVD would not be possible...but..um...although the footage supplied was very helpful..we could not actually use it as for some reason the mp4/mts/mkv files would crash our software...so after many attempts to run it we had to replace all the footage as most would have issues..and to rule out which ones we decided to delete them all...it kinda means that the 14th has actually been edited twice!...the issue was not with editing the files it was with the final render, the software would simply give a `out of memory` error..and as we had the whole gig edited we did not want to delete it..so we spent a further few days looking for codecs to be able to handle the files and also we tried to frameserve out of our editing into other packages...same results!.....so whilst i must say thank you, can i also say its been a real hard slog....u2 have a large setlist!.....seriously its no probs your intentions were all good.

    audio....alot of time has been spent listening to the audio mixes supplied..along with the double edit i can honestly say i hope U2 do not bring out an album this year...i`m kinda `u2`ed` out!!!....whilst the audio has been a help it has also taken alot of time and alot of listening...we decided to use a EQ mix we had done...many thanks for your efforts and for giving us some great mixes, your time has been a real help....i think we managed to included the mix you did pre-xmas, this has been taken down but used for high end as it was the clearest version, we also eliminated all the boom and increased crowd levels at the right moments!...

    watched the DVD in full tonight....as with all productions when you watch it back in full it comes together, we hope we have captured some of the band`s energy and delivery of songs to do them justice!...some songs work, some as usual you wish you could cut up abit more...but for the sake of time...you gotta draw the line!...

    right now the good part...as with the 15th demo`s you get to choose...pick any four songs from the 14th and i`ll post them up tomorrow night (thurs)...count up is at 7pm.
    DVD will be avaliable in the next few days, just sorting the menu`s and navigation.
    MrInxs will recieve 4 copies free...i would hope he would post 3 of them to: Arnoud/u2biggestfan/admin here...also feel free to upload...(each DVD will be 4.3gig approx)
    we have enough posting to do!.....plus it was his idea!

    i`ll post up some details and the demo`s requested tomorrow...now i must sleep...
