1. I was listening to a few PopMart shows that this was in (the really early ones), and its one of the few times that I wished Larry and Adam weren't playing along... I think even if it was done electrically and slowed down a bit, it would be almost....sexually haunting.

Any opinions? Can they ditch IALW or Walk On to cut the ATYCLB and make way for Pop? Obviously, given the stage, Mofo or LNOE would really utilize the space more, but I think this would be a cool nod to an underrated song.

I just dont know how I feel about it possibly going acoustic, which was how I initially envisioned it making its way into the setlist. Any opinions?

NOTE: this hasn't been like, rehearsed or anything...this is completely hypothetical. i don't want everyone to freak out thinking i heard that they were practicing this somewhere just some fun.
  2. i think so, would be a nice surprise plus something cool
  3. that thought has never come up to me, but now that you bring it up.... when I try to imagine how it sounds live as accoustic version.... oh yeah.... that would definitely work... and work well.... that would be a great surprise, really
  4. Indeed an idea. I was never fond of the way they did it live so this might habe a well suited turn around of the song.
  5. To leave out the bass? No effin' way!

Totally agree with you, especially on Mofo. Imagine Mofo followed by The Fly and Discotheque with the Velvet Dress come down. Bloody Hell, that'd be incredible...
  7. I really dont like acoustic versions, but Im 100% for DYFL coming back in full electric, better rehearsed, reshaped for live performances.

  8. And electronics... It would loose all the spirit of the song without bass and electronics.

  9. I sort of think the song would take on a whole new spirit, myself. It would almost mean something totally different...maybe instead of sounding sexy, sounding desperate...

I dont know, I've just been kicking it around. Not going to happen, just fun to dream.
  10. I'm up for it, anything Pop is always good.

doubt it'll happen though, ATYCLB songs seem to take precedence these days.

  11. The problem with "Do You Feel Loved?" wasn't Larry and Adam.

    The song was under-rehearsed.

For me, it didn't help that Bono insisted on singing "Into The Groove" (Madonna) during the intro.

I liked "Do You Fee...". I like "If God Will Send...". But they felt that both were not adding to the show and perhaps detracting so they dumped them from the setlist.

Just like "Indian Summer Sky" and "Electrical Storm" got 'a chance to be played' and after a few tries it was decided - 'not so much'.

As for dumping "In A Little While" or "Walk On"... I don't know that is a trade that needs to be made. It would be neat if they did the next leg a bit more like Bruce Springsteen and have different set lists each night. That way you get a better variety of tunes throughout the tour.
  12. I'd say yes but please, electric.
