And the officials, obviously, won't take any responsibility. They'll just say sorry to the Irish government and that's it. In a normal, civilised, modern country, the officials (the Minister of the interior and the boss of police) would resign after an incident like this. Not gonna happen here.

That never happens in Holland as well. Too big egos. That incident on Schiphol Airport last week (with that Nigerian guy who tried to blow up an airplane near Detroit) didn't make any political sacrifices or resigned officers.![]()

You know what's the sickest thing about this? The police claim that it was a normal security test. For God's sake, they put a bomb into someone's luggage, use him as a doll for their role play and then claim it's not a big deal. My father worked in a factory which produced this explosive material as well as some others lots of years ago and said that this one doesn't need much to blow up. This is an international embarassement for Slovakia. I don't dare to imagine what it would be like if the thing had exploded.

You're right. And that's what they call security. Other countries will look down on Slovakia for not taking any further actions indeed...a sad thing. Wonder how Slovak newspapers react

Obviously, things aren't going to change after this year's parliament election (I have no trouble saying that the majority of people here are stupid) and I'm already thinking about going to university abroad and staying there permanently.

Well, the serious papers are totally against the current government, so they really got into this. Thank God. But as I said, the majority of people here are stupid and tabloids are the most popular newpaper here.

Real stupid or uninformed by the government itself?

The government say things in a way which shows them as the good guys. So, basically, they lie. Not uninformed, but misinformed. The majority don't care about politics and they give their vote to the most populistic parties. Oh, not to forget that sausages and beer for free play an important role in pre-election campaigns. So yeah, the nation of Slovakia is stupid.
