1. As cool as that is....I would have been PISSED to be sitting there in that stadium if he had done that during the full house in Chicago! I kept myself in the dark for close to 3 months on that setlist, and eventually found out bits and pieces through reviews (opening 4 + encore, for example), and also heard "Elevation" soundchecked on my way to Soldier Field....but he just ripped through (most of) the whole set in 4 minutes!
  2. I'd have been more pissed if he didnt' do it and be certain that all of the electronics were working 100% correctly.

  3. Oh I completely agree- but they didn't open the doors at Soldier Field until 5:45. The band was soundchecking all the way up til about 5PM. Had Dallas waited until a lot of people were already there, like it showed in that video (or so it seemed), it might have bothered me a bit. Doing it right before/after the sound check wouldn't phase me; that's what that's for. And I didn't stand around outside waiting to hear soundcheck, because I wanted all those surprises. I just happened upon it on my way up to the stadium.
  4. But was that just going through the stage guitar amps or through the PA system too?

I am sure it comes down to there are only so many hours in the day. Dallas does things on a schedule that works for him and for The Edge. Shouldn't that be acceptable to us fans? (It is for me).

I understand that each has their opinon or preference. I get that. I am not saying no one should have an opinion. But I don't understand anyone being mad/annoyed about how Dallas does his job.

Guess we will have to agree to disagree.
  6. I think the G string on my guitar is wrong. The M13 says its perfectly in tune, but I was trying to play Unknown Caller (unamplified) which heavily uses the open G string and it sounds somewhat dissonant

    Is this normal?

Check to see if the other strings are all in tune also (i'm sure you've done this), if they are, it could be the intonation. Play an open G, and tune it to when it says it's in tune on the M13, then play the G string on the 12th fret, which is the same note, just an octave higher. If it says it's out of tune, than the intonation is off. If it says it's in tune, then I don't know what's up lol. Could be your ears playing tricks on you, could be a dead string (shouldn't effect tune though), but yeah. that's weird.

Yeah, I checked all that, all the other strings are fine, and the intonation on the G string is only very slightly off.

However the bridge saddle for the G string (and only the G-string) is nearly all the way back and can't be turned much more, so maybe it has something to do with that. Also part of the wound string is sticking out of the string cover, i'll try and take a pic of it.

My brother says it's normal, but i'm not quite sure, I was trying to record it using my phone but the recording isn't clear enough.

It seems almost like the string sounds correctly and then the trail off has almost like a buzz or vibrato aspect to it.
  9. Man when is the Edge signature coming out? Let's have a poll! If Edge made a signature guitar, what should it be?

Gibson Explorer Limited Edition 1976 Reissue (natural)
GIbson Les Paul Custom (Cream Coloured)
Fender Stratocaster (70's style headstock and all, black on black, or white on black)

Am I forgetting any other of his most used guitars? I think those three are the ones he's used since the beginning, and should be considered HIS guitars.
  10. The Explorer is the one who everybody associates with Edge and U2 in general.

For me, a Edge signature Blackie Strat would be ultimate... But actually I would prefer the Explorer. It means so much. . . .
  11. Thge explorer would make much more sense, but I would prefer the les paul. They sound so much better than the explorers. Don't kill me, just my opinion.
