1. Really? Ithought you fell in the 22-27 crowd. (alot of our members seem to fall there.) Wow. Show what I know.
  2. OK, enough with the off-topicness. Yes, Aaron went un-civil with his answer (and Aaron, I'm surprised to see that from you, you're the one that was happy we are such civil people here).

I believe that not all soldiers are against War, many of them as Aaron says, are proud. I would have doubts on the reasons they have for this pride tho. I don't know if all of this group are proud of the War in the true sense of this statement.

Some are proud, because they are afraid to face their doubts of the War, so they say: nah, I'm proud, we were great.
Some are proud because they believe they served their country and made it a safer place.
Some are proud because they believe the world is a better place now because of the war.
Some are proud because they believe they did whatever their superiors saw best, no matter it was right or wrong, made things better or worse, so they believed they served their country and are heroes and patriots.

I don't know which are more wrong.

You gotta admit that video was genrealizing though.

The first one is oviosly the most wrong. Men, and women in that category, tend to be in denial, and have the most trouble readjusting to civilian life.

In any case, most American service men, and women dont think of themselves as heroes. You call one a hero, and they'll say,

"Nah, the real heroes are the guys who didn't make it home", or "No I'm not a heroe, but I served in a company of them."

I nkow you will, which is why I'm trying to be civil. Theres a part of me, that suspects Yogi was trying to flamebait me, since I've made my intention to join the military public on here, but I like to think we dont have that big a jerks around here.

Did I ever tell you that you are jerk for wanting to join the army? I didn't. Do I respect your decision? I do. Do I think that it's wrong? I do. Do i think USA is using wrong methods for wrong goals? I do.
Do I want civilised conversation? I do.

This is my last post in communication with you, I'll hope you'll find someone else to call him a jerk and send him to hell. Cheers.

Get your facts straight, I'm joining the Air Force. Also, I actually enjoy argueing with you. I'm natrually confrontational. Every arguement I have with you guys, is one less random person on the street, I start a fight with.

Edit: Also, what do you expect? Alas, I love my country, and will stand by her no matter who may be in charge, or what they do. Are there things I hate about America? Of course, but I still think this is the best damn place in the world.

Edit: I meant no ill will towards any of you, by the last part of this post.
  6. In the intrest, of civilness, and switching to a less heated topic , in light of the Democratic loss in MA, it seems Obamacare may be dying.

    In any case:

Wow!!!! I never thought I'd see a repub win in MA.

Yep, my bad, they won't call themselves heroes, but I meant how they feel deep inside, not what they say to others.
And my reason for not knowing which group is worse, is because of my own opinion on the war and who and what it served. I still don't know which. To me, at least the first group has doubts and isn't blindly accepting what they are told, that's something.
  8. I was flying through Dallas yesterday, and during my layover in the main terminal, a group of about 250 soldiers returning home from their tour in Iraq were walking down the International Arrivals corridor, above the main terminal. All of us in the main terminal stopped what we were doing, stood up, applauded and cheered for over ten minutes straight as the returning soldiers walked past us to catch their respective flights home.

Personally, I think both wars have been mismanaged terribly, but that scene gave me chills. So glad I got to witness it.

They pretty much let us do whatever in this thread. Hell, I recently did a check and found only about 50 people are on this site regularly.

Just keep it civil. Act according to your age, I hope it's higher than 10. Just doubtfull after seeing this language.
  10. The Guantanamo thing is getting even better: the prisoners will not be moved to Slovak prisons, but to Slovak society in order become members of it. From USA with love
