  2. Nope For me, Anchorman hits home the funniest

    And I agree about music not being terrible. The thing I felt was moreso that there were a LOT of good tracks this decade, but in terms of whole albums of the decade, U2 and Arcade Fire both struck gold with two albums (Arcade Fire's only releases, and U2's ATYCLB and NLOTH)

    I could probably fill a list, not necessarily in order, but many bands are used more than once. So, the decade was AMAZING for a couple bands (in that they released more than one killer album), and saw amazing releases from two or three others.

    My list, in no particular order


    U2: All That You Can't Leave Behind
    U2: No Line on the Horizon
    30 Seconds to Mars: This Is War
    Coldplay: Viva la Vida
    Coldplay: A Rush of Blood to the Head
    John Mayer: Continuum
    Justin Timberlake: FutureSex/LoveSounds
    Kings of Leon: Only By the Night
    Kings of Leon: Because of the Times
    Green Day: American Idiot

    And that's ten.

    U2, Kings of Leon, and Coldplay had a PHENOMENAL decade, and it really shows. John Mayer could have, if "Battle Studies" was just a littttttttle bit more diverse, but unfortunately, one listen from front to back and I feel like breaking down, sitting by myself, or just flat out moping. Even if that was his intention....he almost does it too well, and it makes for a depressing album. Track by track, it's a great album though.

It's a blend between really well produced rock and what people call "emo"...the lead singer has a very interesting range, where he can sing well in a medium-high range, and then really belt out a good high range as well. I'd highly, highly reccomend lisening to "Kings and Queens", "This is War", and "Closer to the Edge" (my personal favorite)- it'll give you a nice taste of their music.

    As far as the album goes, it flows so well and I enjoy the style so much, I know it'll be played over, and over, and over, and OVER again in my player.

    Anchorman is pretty damn amazing, so I'll forgive you
    I'd add Radiohead and the Jack White to your artists having a phenomenal decade list.
    But there were some truly great albums, The Killers produced amazing albums, and stuff like Raising Sand, Veckatimest, Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix, Perfect Symmetry,The College Dropout. All of these were amazing and different records, the thing is, great records are spoonfed to us anymore. Very rarely(At least in the US) are you going to hear a great song from a remarkable album in the Top 40. There was a lot of creativity, but you had to find it through something other than pop radio.
    I mean, this is the decade where The Grey Album was created. How sweet is that?
