1. I want to hear Pride this time. I never got to hear it in Toronto the first time.

If they're still touring into late next year, and these "U2 Remasters" are coming out one year at a time, either "Rattle and Hum" or "Achtung Baby" will get the next treatment, depending on which they think will do better.

A lot of people think they pushed TUF material (TUF, Pride, MLK, some shows had Bad) because the remaster was getting released. If we're lucky, maybe they'll try to push material off of either of those two albums- and I'm okay with either

    EDIT:

    Just think...

R&H: Hawkmoon 269, All I Want is You, Van Diemen's Land
AB: So Cruel, Wild Horses, EBTTRT, Tryin' to Throw Your Arms...

    the possibilties are amazing

excellent point!! so we're gonna hear acrobat then.
    hahaha, yeah right.

  3. I think/hope Pride will return. I missed it in Toronto, too!

I have a good feeling that we'll see EBTTRT in place of UV.

I hope they start mixing it up a la Radiohead where they'll interchange various songs on any given night. For example, one night play I Will Follow, Sunday Bloody Sunday, Pride, Bullet, and Desire. The next night play Gloria, New Year's Day, Bad, I Still Haven't Found...and Angel of Harlem.

No matter what some might say, they should NOT remove One, Streets, or WOWY. These are essential to all those who've paid the price of admission.

To be honest, I hope they don't play new material unless they've released an album/single. It'll kill the crowd.
  4. I've said this before, they're not going to do what other bands do and change the setlist a lot each night. They want to give everyone the same great show, and not have some fans feeling like they missed out on a whole lot.

I hope Pride returns, i've never seen that song live, and I get annoyed when people are all "omg we're sick of it stop playing it". I'd rather them drop any of the all that you can't leave behind songs (apart from beautiful day) for Pride. I'd rather have Pride than One even. I'm sick of One, it's the "preach" song now days. I watched ZooTV Sydney today, and One was great because that was back when it was just a great song. Now everytime I hear it it makes me think of charity and political involvement, and basically nothing music-related. Pride ftw.

Apart from that, more Pop songs.

"One" was priceless for me as a first timer, because I'd seen it on virtually every bootleg/DVD ever released, and I finally got to live that moment. Now that it's over, I'd be happy to see it open up another song slot, but what's that doing for the thousands of others who are seeing U2 for the first time and want that experience? Granted, they can't strictly play the song for the first-timers (and they don't), but still- to every U2 fan in the world, including all of us, it should be recognized as one of the biggest staples of their career. It's frequently voted in the top 3 best songs of the 90's, top 10 songs ever written about love, and made people think twice about what they were capable of. I won't mind seeing "One" stay, as long as Bono keeps his political banter to a minimum. The Tutu video beforehand was cutting it JUST close enough on 360°, but his high pitched, loud voice shouting "ONE! ONE!" at the end of it moved me an extreme amount, and really kicked off the song to an emotional start.

With that long novel being said...."Pride" can go. I understand the feeling of never seeing it live- neither have I (dropped it for the first time in like 8 years on Chicago 2)...but there comes a time for every song to go. I feel like the band are too obligated to play "Streets" some nights, and simply just don't feel the performance at all, and I feel terrible for them to have to go through the motions. I'll be the first to admit I'd feel absolutely CHEATED not hearing that at a live show, it's such a spectacle, but we have to remember- it is their band. We choose to be superfans.

  6. ...or they can just change the lyrics in the song of New York to the city which they're at.

    Chicago, Chicago....haha

1991-2011 20 years next year since Achtung Baby. Hopefully we'll get a deluxe edition in 2011, although much depends on when SOA will be out. Though I don't think they'll miss the opportunity to something for the 20 years of one of their most successful albums.

They may realize the Outside Broadcast video, and perhaps the Stockholm 11/06/92 show they filmed for that one guy... or maybe not. On the other hand, I'm not sure how many out-takes there are from the AB era. Maybe demo versions of songs... possibly Heaven and Hell - though I'm not sure they're too proud of it. Let's wait and see.

I pray for a radical change in the final part of the shows (10 last songs), of course including the encore.

If we get a new albu, then obviously there will be lots of changes... But, even in case the album gets delayed, I want the setlists to rotate much more... And include some rocker oldies (Out Of Control, The Electric Co, maybe ASOH or Gloria...).

    This.

Even some old songs that might not have been hits, such as Threw A Brick or A Celebration, even a full version of Stories For Boys and not just a snippet.

I'd so much love to hear (probably a shortened up version of) "I Threw a Brick Through a Window", perhaps leading into something like "New Years Day"...all depends on the way the guitar lines flow into one another, but I think playing the entire song might be awkward placed in a set full of hugely known songs (Beautiful Day, the possibility of Mysterious Ways, Stuck...other songs in that first quarter of the set where new ones are most likely to spring up)
  10. I hope Bad returns to segue into Streets even though i don't see it. I kinda want to start the encore - (ironically the opposite of Wembley 2

    One
    Bad
Where the Streets Have No Name

Good points, but this all comes down to general opinion. I think the Tutu thing is really dumb lol. I think it's overboard, I think his voice is annoying, and I'm at a show to see U2, not a video of some guy scream at me in a strange voice.

As for Pride going ,what makes One any better than Pride? Sure it may get voted as one of the best songs, but Pride has political values that are even more concrete than One's are. Hell, they even got invited to play THAT song for Obama's inauguration, and they're not even American! And I don't think they ever feel like that about Streets, they've even said themselves they never get tired of playing that song. If you watch bootlegs even they're pretty much always smiling during that song, because they love to play it. Just like we never get tired of hearing it (at least I don't). I'd like to hear Pride over One.
  12. I just listened to How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb and I'd love for them to bring back "Love And Peace Or Else", "All Because Of You", "Original Of The Species" or "Sometimes You Can't Make It On Your Own" but I'm not sure where each could/would fit? (Not saying they need to add these four to the setlist but one or two might be nice).
