I agree that buying stuff online is much faster, but as anyone who has had the pleasure would agree I'm sure, nothing beats going to a record show / store and finding a hidden gem within the piles. I found a SBS 12" at a Mall flea market in Peterborough, Ontario.....all 4 CD singles from R&H at a back alley record store in Montreal.....right next to an Adult video store which I never noticed and my brother had to tell me later as they were all laughing at me....now THAT'S a fan!......I found Desire, The Fly, HMTMKMKM, JT Singles, TUF singles all on 45 just by looking. It's a cool feeling.

IMO, singles are really fully experienced on 45.....especially the ones like Desire, WOWY and One that have amazing b-sides....that and it spells out in black and white (or Sunburst if it's early U2 ) why theyr'e called 'b-sides'

  2. First album : Under A Blood Red Sky
    First single : Pride [12"]
  3. First album - Boy
    First single - Fire
  4. First Album - War
    First Single - Pride

Have really missed decent b-sides from U2 recently. All remixes and the like. When we were young we got propper b-sides
  5. First album: Zooropa (in 1993, on cassette)
    First single: The Fly
  6. Wow! I missed this thread...

    First Album: Joshua Tree cassette
    First Single: Discoteque/Holy Joe cassette

I have Holy Joe in my head. "Cmon, Cmon, Cmon, Holy Joe..." Gonna have to go listen now.
  7. Nate posted back on the first page about the last album / single we bought.

Album: The Unforgettable Fire (Box Set)

    Single: Miss Sarajevo
  8. Album: Joshua Tree (on cassette in 1987; CD in 1989 - replaced with remastered version in 2007)
Single: WGRYWH (1999) I always liked the FULL Temple Bar Remix better than the album version. I never understood why it wasn't included on the Best of 1990-2000 set.
