1. So,
Over the past two years my grades in school have been "Meh." to say the least. SO. I bet my Mom that if I bring them up, she has to buy me Bono's Emporio Armani (red) shades! I'm so pumped seeing as how I know my grades are gonna be good! I already have an imitation pair (and i'm buying another ) but these are gonna be awesome!! What do you guys think?

Although U2 collectibles are great, I don't think you should use the acquisition of material items as incentive to try in school. I think Bono would agree.

lol, way to be a stick in the mud.

I think it's a cool idea, I was going to buy them myself actually, along with a set of The Fly Shades

To get them that way is not a good idea. This ultimatum is ridiculous, look, you need the grades to go up - not your mother, and again you need the shades but not your mom.

  5. Meh, its not a big deal. I see where theyre coming from, but I disagree. Its not that I don't try to do good in school, because I do, really hard for that matter, but its just hard. So when i'm like "F!@# this I give up" It will almost be kind of a "Hey knock it off" if that makes any sense at all. Plus, realistically, this is probably one of the only ways I could get them considering I never really have any money lol.

And I found a site that sells all sorts of Bono Glasses; www.bonou2sunglasses.com I just bought the blue "Bono in Africa" pair today, and hopefully I can find a way to get the fly ones!

The fly shades there aren't very accurate in terms of replicating the actual ones. The ones here:
    http://www.theflyshades.com/
Are a lot more expensive, but a lot more accurate IMO. That's the sight i'd probably order from.

  7. Yeap, I can see the difference. But, Like I said i'm not usually with money so i'll probably go with the 20$ ones

    HAHA!

I agree too. I don't really believe in "bribing" your kids to do well in school. That being said I love my knock-offs that I bought for my birthday party last year!

Its not really bribing, its a bet, but even if it was just a offer, like I said to RattleandHum I see it as an incentive.

  10. Yeah, I'd like a pair of those Fly shades myself - I think the site people have been referring to offers them in three different styles. I'd probably go for the relatively conservative brown ones. I believe Sir Bono wore them later on in the Zoo TV tour.

You shouldn't use material incentives to get something.

I personally wouldn't buy the glasses...I have a pair of the RED ones (the 9285s) and they're flimsy as all fuck.
  12. It's an incentive thats all, no harm in this what so ever, we all need something to work towards in life or we would all become lazy bums - everything we work for is to better our selfs and have a better quality of life and things we want, so what better way to start, no harm what so ever, go on achive your grades and be rewarded.
