Anyway, the point of this was for anyone who's ever written anything- songs, poetry, any form of lyric- to be able to share it with the rest of the guys and gals. I figure we've all got nothing to lose, and feedback never really is a bad thing, whether its positive or constructive criticism. So share what you've got! It'll be a good time, I hope.
Here's something I wrote over the summer of 2009. It's the only song I've actually ever "completed", in that I wrote all the music and lyrics for it and actually have it recorded, on my iPod. I had to sing it, since I didn't really have a band at the time, which is why so few people have heard it (not too cocky about my voice, haha

Everything's Gonna Be Alright
By: Matt
Verse I
She don't know nobody different
She don't know nobody else
The nights that he don't come a runnin', yeah,
Are the nights she spends all by herself
She lives her life no questions answered
She don't care for the truth it seems
The only happiness she's faking, yeah,
Is the kind she passes off in dreams
Chorus
And it's not too much she's asking
Just to have someone tonight
To lay right down beside her,
And whisper...
Everything's gonna be alright
Verse II
She don't play nobody's favorite
She's just a conversation piece
A victim of some kind of depression
Arrested by the social police
She never shouts out in excitement
She likes to think she knows her place
She only seems to go a-missin'
When she's standing right in front of his face
Chorus
And it's not too much she's asking
For the words she may never hear
She's begging him for clarity
She needs to hear it crystal clear,
That everything's gonna be alright
Small, conservative solo
Verse III
She's giving up what she called hope, now
That empty feeling she knew well
And it's unclear as who's to blame
For this life so closely resembling hell
Those words she wants- does she deserve them?
No matter how hard she pleas
And if she gets them, will they cure her?
Drive away this sick disease?
Chorus
Cause it's not really asking
If it's only in her head
And the only remedy she knows
Is going to leave her dead
So she closes all the windows
And she turns out all the lights
As she tells herself her final words-
Everything's gonna be alright
