1. magnifcicent really sounded cool. suc also did. fez and uc were sounding soo strange...

  2. ahaha. i remember MOS and UC had the instrumental intros and we couldn't tell how the song was gonna go. We need SOA asap..
  3. 1) FEZ - Being Born
    2) Get on Your Boots (with intro)
    3) No Line on the Horizon
    4) Breathe
    5) Magnificent
    6) Unknown Caller (edit without "Sunshine Sunshine" part)
    7) I'll Go Crazy If I Don't Go Crazy Tonight (live remix)
    8) Stand Up Comedy
    9) Kingdom of Your Love
    10) Moment of Surrender
    11) Cedars Of Lebanon
    12) No Line on the Horizon 2

  4. Cedars Of Lebanon is great, it happens to be very similar to The Ocean, something like a sequel to that pretty little tune

  5. I also think it's a truly great song. And Stand up comedy's a good rock song. Winter Linear version would have made a great addition to the album. Perhaps the song I have most doubts about is Crazy Tonight - album version.

For me, this album is a bit like a new Unforgettable Fire. It lacks Bad, TUF and Pride - a great single - but it has a few really great songs:

    Unknown caller
    Cedars
    Magnificent
    Being born

    Moment of Surrender
    Breathe

  6. God almost a year. I remember the morning I got up at 8 am to hear Boots.

Chris Moyles: ''This is it. The new song from U2.'' Goosebumps!!

I havent got much to say on the track listing other than Winter should have been on it as the last song, and Breathe should have been track one. I mean, that intro would have kicked off the album so well.
  7. I thought it would have sounded better with a longer version of Moment Of Surrender, keeping Winter, taking out Crazy Tonight and Boots.

How long should MoS be? I think maybe 15 - 20 minutes. And maybe Unknown Caller could be longer but get rid of 'Reboot yourself...''. Does that sound fucked?

Nah, that sentence was useful for us in U2start, after all we did this:

  9. yeah, true, best line for us here I always hear this in mind when the line comes up in the song

coincidence really, but I had the whole album running on a loop the past days, and I found out that I really like the order of the songs. It fits perfectly when you listen to them as a whole. I hadn't discovered that yet, but sometimes (often with U2) it takes some time to discover songs or an album for what it is and look at it from a different angle.
So as for me, the track listing is perfect (while the Bomb totally is not, but that's an entirely different topic and doesn't belong here).

one year already, my goodness I remember leaning against the studio doors at HQ in 2008, listening to the boys recording the album up there... seems like yesterday
  10. Agree with the Unknown Caller stuff (I even sing "U2start and reboot yourself" each time I hear the song - not kidding)

But I strongly disagree with the order songs on the album. I think that Boots should be just after Magnificent, and MOS-UC should be after SUC. Something like this:
    NLOTH > Magnificent > Boots > I'll Go Crazy > SUC > Fez > MOS > UC > WAS > Breathe > Cedars

That 5 rockers, whether you like them or not, should be together, and not spread away on the album. Then the mystic Fez-MOS-UC-WAS chain, and then the perfect closing with Breathe and Cedars.
On the actual order, NLOTH and Magnificent get you started, and then you get suddenly down with MOS and UC, and then suddenly up again with the middle 3 rockers, and then, and then... I hate it

The order I posted above would be the perfect for a vynil-only edition of the album, with the first six rocker songs in one side, and the other 5 relaxed and meditative songs on the other. That would be the perfect balance........ according to the album cover

"Restart and reboot yourself" is my favorite part of UC! I was so excited just to hear them sing that ONE LINE live! Hah, funny how the opinions differ..
