1. So I downloaded The Rose Bowl show via U2torrent and they used some kind of soundboard sound over the original broadcast sound. You can clearly hear some guy counting before each song starts. More importantly theres a beautiful piano part in the beginning of With or Without You. It sounds so awesome. They should use it for the real show sound! Have u guys ever heard it? Why is it on the soundboard sound but not in the actual show?
  2. I think its only there to help Bono with his pitch.

  3. It is what the band hears in their ears. In IEMs you can hear Terry and Bono's guitar much better. The soundboard you are talking about is actually an IEM matrix

Thats right this is an in ear monitor, this is not a soundboard and these parts are never ment for our ears, these are basically timing tracks broadcast into the ear pieces for the band they are radio frequencies that have been intercepted from someone with a scanner, this has been then overlaid by a fan onto the original broadcast.
  5. Indeed, they use it for that. Sometimimes it's piano parts, sometimes just plain synth notes, etc. To keep Bono in pitch and tune
