They know that and they'll change their tack, the next album will have stronger singles

Not if the songs are weak to begin with.

  2. In my opinion, it's not that. It was the awful choice of singles for NLOTH.

  3. magnificent and crazy were decent imo, stand up comedy woulda been nice to see as a single.
  4. I agree with MOS, but strongly disagree with WOWY. The WOWY from Dublin 1989-12-30 is probably the most inspired performance ever, and Zoo TV and Joshua Tree Tour have a few ones too (Vancouver 1992-04-23, Tampa 1987-12-20.......)

    PS. Thanks, Andrew

  5. I think Crazy was a good single choice, Magnificent too was justifiable. I don't know what they were thinking by not releasing Breathe or No Line 2 though.

And Unknown Caller would have been good with a shorter single edit.

  6. Hello!
    Best Song on the Album!
The Live Version is better as the Studioversion!

Breathe should have been the first single and then MoS, Crazy Tonight and Stand Up.

Does a band really write singles? Bon Scott in 1979 said ''AC/DC aren't really a singles band...we don't write singles...songs specifically for a single...'' AC/DC are much like U2 in which their songs should be heard as part of a full album, not one cut-down song because there's so much more to them - especially the longer ones. So should U2 abandon singles, especially considering the remix-after-remix situation?

The b-sides don't have to be amazing (Neon Lights) but the single has to give me incentive to buy and get it noticed. Remixes don't do that in 2009. How long would it take to release one song from the sessions that they were only going to throw away, give it a quick clean-up, make sure it sounds decent and throw it out there.

Levitate was almost going to be thrown away. It shows even if the song you didn't think was any good can be a very good song with others.

U2 does from time to time, Beautiful Day was definitely written to put them back on top as the biggest band in the world, same with Vertigo.

Indeed, several performances of WOWY seem to go farer than the original studio version, which is of course also great. The shine like stars bit makes the difference.
  10. its still genius.

Nothing touches the album version but again loving the Barca 1 version
